It is correct that coconut oil belong to the "good" fats. But it is not like it is benefital on its own that much, so you should avoid eating to much of it nonetheless. I buy my coconujt oil at the store, just a cheap regular brand. Dont think that makes a difference.

There is still some controversy about the health benefits of coconut oil because of the level of saturated fat. The general consensus is that it is a much healthier fat to cook with than vegetable oils because it's more stable under heat. The type of saturated fat contained in the oil also adds to its benefits. Just remember that fat is still very energy dense regardless of whether it's good or bad so use it sparingly. If you are on a low carb or ketogenic eating plan, then you have a little more leeway with the amount of fat that you can eat. Cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil is best. Some cheaper coconut oils have been heat treated which changes the characteristic of the fat and wipes out the health benefits - basically the fatty acid bonds break and the property of the fat changes and becomes unhealthy

Cold pressed, virgin. Sometimes labelled as raw coconut oil.

For cooking I use the raw coconut oil. I think is the same as the extra virgin but Im not really sure. However, coconut oil is also very good for the skin and hair. I use it mostly for that actually

You should try! My skin is softer and my hair is super silky now
