Default The Weekend - July 15th and 16th

"St. Swithun's day, if thou dost rain,
For forty days it will remain;
St. Swithun's day, if thou be fair,
For forty days 'twill rain na mair."
Just a bit of Brit folklore to crank up the day.

Not looking forward to the next 40 days as we are still in record-breaking cooler weather and rain almost daily for the past month!

Despite having a lovely wedding day with a Church packed with friends, this has been a sad week. Just came home from a funeral of an old Delta resident yesterday - a hard service for Bruce to conduct - and got a phone call that my dear brother Dave was dead. Still have no full details but it sounds like he killed himself. The family is in turmoil because he was his usual cheery self at the wedding and this is a complete shock.

I may not be around much this week.

Good morning

Ruth, I was initially so excited to see you back and now my heart just breaks for you. Such a sad week and my thoughts are with you. Take care.

Amy, welcome back glad you had such a nice trip.

to all. I've had a cup of coffee now I'm going to get the car loaded before picking berries so I can head right out this morning. Last week I got stuck in traffic just 10 miles from home. These short trips don't bother me too much. I get something done on both sides. I bought a beautiful climbing Rose Thursday that I need to plant today in Idaho Springs.
The report is that the topcoat of the asphalt is all finished. They are going to wait until the 25th To put the top coat on. At least, I think that until then I can just park in front of my house. I'm grateful for that.

Have a good start to the weekend everyone and special hugs to Ruth.

Good morning!

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother! So devastating. I pray you will be able to find some comfort this week.

It's so humid here are windows are steamed over right now. It's not as hot as it was but good grief you can hardly breathe outside. My daughter's friend is still here so I think we'll take her out to the bay on the boat, where it's cooler, and tool around and catch a breeze.

Morning, chicks.

Ruth, I echo Debbie; glad the wedding went well but what a heavy load of sadness. Sending hugs your way.

Debbie, it must feel SO GOOD!! to park in front of the house and see the end of this project in sight! I can't remember, you are picking blackberries? On your property or some where else? Have a good day.

Amy, your trip sounds really awesome!! And you have the right attitude; go with the flow, make whatever good choices you can but don't worry too much while on vacation. You are so dedicated I am sure you will be back down in no time.

It is raining right now but the forecast is for it to clear up later. I hope they are correct since the wedding is outside.

Have a good day, chicks.

Good morning,

Ruth, I am with Debbie I was excited to see you had posted, but so sad news to hear, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.

Debbie I know you must be happy to be able to park in front of your house

Amy it is a bit cooler only 90s here this weekend but still muggy, so I can relate

Beth hope the rain holds off for the wedding.

Restless night of sleep due to DH keeping me up with his restlessness so slept in a bit this morning. Worked on transferring contacts from his old windows phone to a samsung phone I purchased for him on amazon prime days. He needed an upgrade. I have had mine for almost 4 years but waiting on the Iphone 8 before I upgrade my 5. Now I just have to run to a different At &T that has some nano sim cards in stock, his old phone's is too big. Such a hassle I think I will do my fingers do the walking since I went to one last night and they did not have so will call prior to leaving.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Oh Ruth I am so sorry to hear about your brother. We are all thinking of you.

Debbie you must be ecstatic the end is in sight for the road over haul.

Pearlrose hope you heal with the meds and PT. I have had Cortisone shots in my heels, knees and thumbs. Great relief but not long lasting.

Amy when we were in Georgia recently it actually hurt to breath. The air was so heavy. Hope you get relief soon.

Day 6 still OP, meat and dairy free too. Last night was challenging but I did it. One Angry Orchard, arugula salad with apple / orange slices and corn tortilla chips with guacamole. Drank lots of water too. I am quite tired as I didn't get to bed until 11:30 and was up at 5. Up a blip this morning, but no concerned at all.

Back to work.

Good morning!

Just heading out the door wanted to say hello! I got tired and a little bit overwhelmed yesterday. Still working on this paperwork with my mother. Chilled out and went to bed early now I feel better. I did get some things done outside this morning which makes me feel better. Will try to mow the lawn when I get home

Good morning,

Yesterday ended up being a beautiful day hot but humidity was down. DH and I got his new activated, went out to lunch, had a yummy salad. Then came home and did grocery run and cleaning of house. It was nice not having an event to go to. Not sure what is on the agenda today, I need to run a desktop bought that I bought as it is defective and get a replacement for it but may do that on Tuesday when I go into work, we shall see.

Have a great day everyone!

Red face Back Again

Good Morning Chicks,

It has been awhile since I posted anything. I am able to lurk around on my smart phone but have problems trying to post from it. I finally sat down at my old desk top computer this morning. Life has gone crazy around here! I was transferred to another office in another small town with very little notice! I had to pack up my office at one location and move everything to the new location and set up in the new office while still keeping my regular schedule with my clients and had 2 trainings to attend during that time also! I am almost all unpacked and organized in the new office. We have been traveling and camping most weekends. Busy busy busy! Food has been so so. I have hovered within a 3 pound range up and down on the scale. I gave up trying to find a journal to track things and created my own based upon an article on planning your meals for the South Beach diet. I printed off pages and put them in a binder to help me plan and track my food.

Ruth I am so sorry to hear about your tragedy. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Amy it is MUGGY and HOT here too in Ohio. It is the worst heat we have had in years around here. All I want to do is sit in the air conditioning.

Debbie picking berries sounds lovely. I used to live in the country where we picked wild blackberries and grew strawberries. They were delicious!

Pearlrose I hope you are able to get some rest. Electronics drive me buggy! I need a new computer but dread getting everything transferred and set up on a new one.

Have a great on plan day everyone!

Afternoon chicks...OhioDreamer that had to be stressful!!! Glad you are enjoying camping. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Pearlrose I know its summer (lol) any relief insight?
Debbie hope your day goes smoothly.

My mom found a house! Actually its a townhouse. They are in contract already. This certainly is moving quickly for them. Nothing moves quickly for me lol. Got the estimate WAY, WAY, WAY more than I thought or budgeted for. I am going to have my friend Ed's patio guy come and look at it and John's driveway guy. I have a feeling I won't be able to do the walkway until the spring. I've lived with it this long I guess I can deal with it longer.

So today marks day 7 of my vegetarian challenge. I am down 8 pounds which is still unbelievable to me. I know a good 3 was water weight from my trip, but 5 pounds is still way more than I have lost in quite sometime. I am working 16 hours today and plan on stopping home to walk Coconut and get my dinner for the next shift. The scale has been keeping me motivated. I didn't work out this week as I thought the major food change was enough. Starting Tuesday I'll get back into a routine. Monday is my annual mammogram and ultra sound. I am going to be kind to myself afterwards and make a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Stew Leonards run. Luckily all three are pretty close to my appointment.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Good afternoon, chicks.

We have a lovely day today; went for a walk with DH this morning. Now I'm searching recipes before I go out and putter around in the garden. I am very excited that the cucumbers are producing now and I can't wait for the tomatoes to ripen!

Welcome back, Ohio Dreamer. What a whirlwind of change for you lately!

Jennifer, how amazing your Mom already found a place. Awesome job on the vegetarian challenge!

Have a great day everyone.
