yo-yo dieter trying again
I tried the weird stuff like HCG and the Master Cleanse Lemonade thing. I devoted time to the more 'normal' approaches of Atkins, Weight Watchers, straight calorie counting, and Primal Blueprint. I seem to lose on all of it. My problem seems to be maintaining once I get there.
Unfortunately, some of my health issues are definitely worse with the extra weight. It needs to go away and actually stay gone this time. I'm trying to avoid the medically supervised VLCD program suggested by the doctors. I'm 34 years old, 5'6" and currently weigh 244.4. Doc would like to see me no heavier than 185 but says lower is better. My personal goal is reaching and maintaining 140.
I started on portion control and mindful eating 3 weeks ago and have lost around 4.6 pounds. That's not a lot and feels very slow but it's a start.
