Default Another TICKER Question...not updating properly

ARGH! I'm pulling my hair out over this ticker! When I was a member 2 years ago, all I did was go into EDIT SIGNATURE and change the number within the code to reflect my current weight. Super simple.

Now - correct me if I'm wrong - but it seems that this site doesn't generate tickers. We go to one of the two recommended sites, generate the ticker, cut the code, and paste it in. Got it. Did it. No problem.

The problem comes when I try to edit my weight. The code is a bunch of gibberish with no clearly-marked numbers to change. So since I got the ticker from the ticker factory, I go to the bookmarked page, enter in my 4-digit code, update the number, copy the NEW code, delete the OLD code here, and paste in the new code.

I got the # to change ONCE, yesterday, after a bunch of hassling (wouldn't update. Wouldn't update. Wouldn't update. FINALLY got the ticker to reflect the new #). Now, today, I'm going through the very same thing. Trying to update. No change. I have closed both web pages and tried multiple times. Finally, out of frustration, I went to the other page - Lily something - and cut code from there. But it appears that I'd have to do the whole process (select background/marker/enter weights/save) each time I have a change in weight.

Am I missing something? Is there not a way through this web site to simply go into our signature and change the weight # in the coding? It seems like a huge hassle to have to go to an outside website, log in, change the stats, update it, retrieve entirely new code, and paste it in each time we have a change in weight. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

Thanks!

Hi Frances,

Sorry you're having trouble here.

Start by changing the code you copied by adding a '[' to the front,
like I've done in the second example.
See if that makes a difference.
PHP Code:

Thanks, I will give that a try!

By the way, my ticker did update! On the PREVIEW it showed as not updating, but when I see one of my posts, it did. Maybe I just need to check that first - it's possible that it's working after all! Fingers crossed!
