We are off visiting DS 2. Had a nice dinner with him last night and then did a little shopping. Not sure what is the plan for today. I will sure there will be food splurges but will try to make some good choices too.
Had a nice dinner out last night with DH and my girls. DH and I then went and saw the movie Gifted, I really liked it. Today is more studying and the girls and I are going shopping. I see some laundry in my future as well.
Have fun today ladies! We're dealing with an ant infestation. The cats are thrilled but we are not!
Groceries being delivered tomorrow morning and all ready for the second week of Phase 1. Meals planned and feeling slightly better and less bloated. Love SBD!
Had a terrible night last night DS1 had sore throat and at about midnight wake up everyone in the house. He has problems with textures and he would prefer to make everyone miserable or die before he takes medicine. He decided that warm milk was going to help him so he drank some and went back to sleep. At about 3am he wake us up again and of course me being the mom has more patience with him so I stayed up calming him down after an hour of begging him to drink some warm lemon water with honey he finally gave up and drink it. He went back to sleep at 4:30 am and wake up again at 6am. He stayed up so did I. got breakfast ready and then DH took him to Saturday Algebra lab for his end of course exams.
DH took DS2 grocery shopping and to car wash and I was supposed to try to nap, but I can't sleep during the day so instead I kept myself busy cleaning around the house. Six hours later the house was sweep, mop, and dusted. I also clean the boys rooms, washed their linens, cleaned inside windows, dusted the walls and cleaned the fans and did 6 loads of laundry. Now, my back is hurting and I'm exhausted, but the house and the rooms look and smell good I keep forgeting that there is a reason why I do different sections each day instead of everything in one day, oh well...
Now I'm enjoying the rest of the evening sitting and relaxing and hopefully DS1 will let us sleep all night. Tomorrow we have no plans except church in the morning, so I will be relaxing and meal planing.
Good Sunday morning from frozen foggy Delta where the temp is right at freezing and there's a skiff of ice on my flooded dog yard - aka Lake Sheridan. We are supposed to warm up considerably today and I am hoping to get the back deck cleaned up and be able to bask in the sun after Church this morning.
Having a bit of a problem with feeding Bruce dinner a couple of nights a week as he is an incredible carb addict! He has no clue and I'm sure will never learn. The good news is that he is starting to ask - the bad news is that he doesn't think cookies and jelly beans are carbs. He doesn't have a weight problem and passes all the bloodwork with flying colours. On the other hand, I am having trouble keeping the weight even steady and the whole thing is compounded by all the invitations we are getting for dinners out - farm and country folk keep wanting to "feed him up"!
This is the last week of April and I still have two tax returns to start plus a couple of double booked days. We are hoping to take in a music festival during the week and Bruce is getting an award on Friday which means a trip to Toronto for the presentation plus a flight back to Ottawa Saturday since we have Book Club here. Looks like those tax returns may be filed late and I'll have to "eat" the penalty.
The good news is that my dress for the wedding has been shipped from Oakville. The other good news is that my daffodils are starting to bloom - just think, back in March I was deadheading my friend's daffies in Georgia. Double spring!
Good morning the past few days were pretty packed. Today is a leisurely day at home. DS is sleeping in for the last time. Tomorrow I take him to the recruiter and he is off to Albany. I am going to the swearing in Tuesday. Today I am allowing myself a full blown cheat day. His party was a success and everyone enjoyed it. I gushed but kept it short before he cut his cake. I told him to be prepared for a lot of mothering today lol
Things should be back to normal aka routine Tuesday afternoon. Will try and catch up on personals then.
Enjoy the lovely day. I see weeding in my day at home plans.
Ruth, glad to hear from you, merging two people's eating styles is rough! I'm in this shape because I was a grazer, hubby a meal eater so I combined both!
Muffin - hope you got some sleep! I think it's hard to lose weight when you're body is exhausted.
We put all the patio furniture and cushions out. The pool will be opened soon apparently, we drained it and hubby power washed it. Now we just need the company to come with the water! It was a stressful week with work and things so it was so nice to turn on the music and sit outside with a glass of wine.
This morning we're hosting the neighborhood meeting. There are only 9 homes, and some of the neighbors are all ate up with coming up with all kinds of new rules and regulations. We're trying to work it all out. Hubby is in there making quiche, and I bought pastries, bagels, donuts. I'm also going to have bloody mary's and mimosas. I can have the veggie quiche - lol.
My weight has been all over the place this week! Up and down like crazy, but I ended down. I got too small for my clothes again! Good thing I knew to just buy a few pieces to get me through. I went to jjill yesterday where I've known the store manager forever. She jumped up and down with me and helped me pick a few things. She hadn't seen me since before I started this. She didn't even recognize me at first. I always buy a particular pair of jeans in the next size down as my next goal. So, I bought a size 10 - and I could get them on, I just wouldn't wear them in public. I've got to be about 12 - 15 lbs from wearing them. I know jjill runs big but I've never been able to wear a medium there before.
It is sunny here, after 2 days of cold rainy weather it supposed to be pretty nice today. Yesterday went to the mall with DD2 and she got an outfit and I found a pair of capri's I liked. Then came home and ended up weeding so that is out of the way. Weeding always seems to make my hamstrings so tight will need to do some yoga today. I am officially back on Phase 1 today, too much birthday celebration this past couple of days and the scale is showing it, me and DD1 are starting back on track today.
Ruth sounds like you have a super busy week ahead, glad your dress is on it's way. It's always a struggle here as DH loves carbs, if i stay on track they don't bother me to be around but if I manage to get off track they definitely help derail me.
Isla hope your DS is feeling better and you were able to get some more sleep lasts night
Jekel enjoy your day with DS
Amy congrats on moving down in size that is awesome
Jekel - enjoy the time with DS!
Amy - good job on sizing down!! AMAZING!
We were the first stop on the grocery delivery guy's stop only he forgot half our order. Then I had to run to the store anyway (that time of the month) and I hadn't purchased supplies. Plus, I bought Halo Top "ice cream" to get me through the week if I am to crave...that and OP peanut butter cups (the Halo is last resort - not sure it is allowed in Ph1 and I don't want to mess up all I've done this week).
The trainer cancelled on me so I just said no to him and will try again to find someone. In the meantime, I've got the dentist on Tuesday, doctor's appointments for DW Monday (check on her blood clot) and Thursday (surgeon to check the infection and hopefully get the ok to start PT). It'll be a busy week. Then I am in Philadelphia May 1-4 for work. The next month is going to get nuts.
Hey chicks! Back home after a very long car ride. At least at this time of year the daylight lasts longer and there is no threat of snow! It was good to see both boys over break, now it's back to reality tomorrow. I'm glad I shopped and prepped breakfast and lunch for the week. I also went through the pantry last week checking dates on everything. Stir fry is now on the week's menu, plus some pot roast I froze last month and some chili from the freezer. I know May will fly by and the end of the school year will be here in no time.
Amy, hooray for new clothes in a smaller size!!!
Jennifer, thinking of you. Best wishes to DS; I'm glad he found a direction. As for you, a splurge day is in order. I know you have the mindset not to let it become a splurge week.
Ruth, good to hear your news. We have a gorgeous afternoon today; I may take a walk before dinner.
I'm burned out on the treadmill and I was so hoping to hike today, but as I look outside it's already started raining. Bummer! It's starting to bother my feet, my back, etc. I do have an old elliptical I may dust off, it's not really that great, but I may try half and half today. Hubby just walked in and said he's going to call the store we were in yesterday and see about getting that bike delivered for me.
I can't imagine getting groceries delivered! We live in a rural county, and I can't get any kind of delivery, except maybe one pizza place.
