Default I want this to be it

A lifetime of being overweight...... I want this to be the lifestyle change I need. I hope that if I get involved in this forum it will help me stay motivated. I don't want this to be a diet, I want it to be a lifestyle change.
I donated blood today and needed to be weighed as part of that process, I have gained another 5kg since the last donation which puts me at my heaviest ever weight - 125kg.
I am a lucky girl, I enjoy my work, I have a wonderful partner and we have a lovely life with our 2 fur babies. I just hate everything about myself and have no faith or confidence in myself. How can I restore this?

Hello.

First of all believe in your self. Have faith and build that confidence. No matter what it takes or what happens never let yourself down. You are you after all.

Secondly you need to he motivated.

Start a diet and exercise plan according to your convenience.

I have been on and off diet since months now.. I too decided that this is it. No more fooling around. It's been 12 days. I have started doing JM's thirty day shred. I drink 4 litres of water everyday along with green tea. Breakfast and dinner I eat a bowl of Special K Cereal (Believe me, it doesn't fill me up.. I drink water to fill myself. oh the pity!!😧) . At lunch I eat whatever is prepared (it's rice all the time anyway).

I have lost my blood percentage from 14% to 8%. I had a miscarriage. So In order to increase my blood level I eat pomegranate/carrot/apple daily.

Other than that I don't even touch other food.

Iam at 178lb now and I wish to loose about 50lb.

Let's be friends and achieve our goal together. han?

good luck

Hi - I am new too. This is so scary. I eat to protect myself so even thinking about losing weight leaves me feeling vulnerable. I am in my late 40s and my weight has fluctuated all my life up to about 5 years ago where I am maintained over 300 lbs - my heaviest. Thanks for listening.

I think for confidence- yes, diet and yes, exercise but change takes time so make sure you also take time to do things you enjoy and are good at right now. It's so easy to get discouraged on diet/exercise when you don't see changes happening very fast. But if you like to dance, dance. If you like walking outside, do that. If you like knitting, do that. Do things you are good at, which will boost your self-esteem. Don't make the diet/exercise the be all/end all. Good luck on your journey.

What EagleRiverDee said.

Also, I would add, try this challenge. For, say, 10 days to start with, look in the mirror and find something you like about your appearance. Your eye color/shape, your nose, the way your hair's looking that day, your smile, it could be anything. Then, compliment yourself on it, preferably out loud. Too often we see our reflections and fixate on the stuff we don't like. Try fixating on the stuff you *do* like!

And welcome to 3FC!!

Hi Daiseemay1,

First of all you're beautiful! No one can take that away from you. You need to get right in your mind. Everything begins with a desire. It seems that you have the desire to change. And you are right, it's not about dieting. It's about a lifestyle change. That change begins in your mind. Know thyself. Love thyself. I have several books I can recommend for you to become the person you want to be and stay focused on your journey. I will recommend one, "As A Man Thinketh" by James Allen. I'd love to recommend a mentoring group. Reach out to me anytime.
