Default Weekend Warriors Day 4....8/30

Okay guys, just because it is the weekend doesn't mean we can slack off! Do you think those fat cells are taking the day off? I think not!

First, let's see how I did:

1. Get some structure...plan my meals and make sure I eat. Not too bad...today will be a bigger challenge.

2. Water....get some lemons to put in in and maybe a pretty glass. Okay, I didn't do this...yet. But I am going to the store in a while and a glass and lemons are on my list!

3. Find a way to work out even though Andi is home and staying in "my" exercise room! This could really be a huge challenge! THIS I did! I did the 4 mi WATP tape for the FIRST time yesterday!

I did meet the weekend challenge of trying something new! I made bouilliabaise (SP?) for my DD and her BF....and it was yummy. Who knew something so good for you could taste like heaven? And if I include doing the 4mi WATP tape I did TWO new things so far!

My goals were for the entire weekend, but I need to add one for today:

1. EAT ON PLAN!! 'Nuff said on that topic.

Extra credit challenge: Make sure you read Marcie's post in the daily thread about making choices and deciding how September is going to be for you! Good stuff.

I want to hear about any ideas you have come up with for getting your water, too. Ruth said she was going to set her kitchen timer for every hour...I like that one. I thought I might buy some cheap, thin bangle bracelets and start out with all of them on one arm, moving them as I drank my water. Then again, maybe not!

Okay, ladies....August is almost over...let's bid it a fond farewill and get geared up for September!

Today:

MUST get new battery for pedometer. TODAY!

Do a little work on apartment.

Water.

Walk.

I can't WAIT until Tuesday. The closer it gets, the closer I get to losing my mind... I want to be ALONE!!!

Pardon my crankiness. I love you all.

Yesterday? I did eat clean all day (and evening) and managed to put 5890 steps on the pedometer. Did not drink as much water as I intended. I made up a Chinese veggie soup for lunch and made egg white noodles for it. Was great!

Today I will do much more walking - I'm over 7000 steps already and will do the kitchen timer trick with water. I just realized I skipped breakfast! However, I will eat clean and snack clean for the rest of today.

Yesterday I did pretty well.....cleaned some more, shopped for groceries for the new recipes I want to try (very disappointed though that I couldn't find an avacado in 3 grocery stores in town for the dressing for the pistachio chicken salad....the downside for living in a small town in ND I guess...so I won't be cooking that today as planned), had a nice visit with my Mom on the telephone, and took a nice long bubble bath before bed. I also tried a new recipe from Linda Gassenheimer's cookbook, florentine eggs and ham, it was pretty good.

Today is a ME day! I may just stay in my pjs all day today! I'm reading a new book, and I'm going to spend some time grooming my dogs, maybe find an old movie on TV to watch, maybe take a little nap! I feel so self-indulgent and a little selfish and lazy, but I deserve to do this for myself!

I found a low-carb recipe for shrimp scampi that I'm going to try today, if it's good I'll post it in the recipe thread.

PS....ellis, feel free to be as cranky as you want!! You are entitled to feel however you want to feel, and we're here to accept you and support you no matter what!!! After all, what are friends for?

Good afternoon Sargeant Frannie:
Yesterday I did well with my goals of exercise, water and staying OP except with the nuts. there was just the last serving in the container, and they kept calling my name until I gave in. But now the container is empty and I will buy no more. I just know that I am week as far as pistachios are concerned.

For today and tomorrow I will have a real challenge. My DH wanted to do Fazoli's Italian for lunch today after church, so I had big salad and 3 meatballs. But they would serve you those soft break sticks (1 1/2) are in me. Breakfast was OP and I can keep our evening meal OP for today. But.....Monday we have activities at our clubhouse. As I am Social club Chairperson I need to be there. so Pancake breakfast in the a.m. Juice, pancakes, ham or sausage, coffee. I can be good at lunch. Then dinner Lasagna, green beans, salad, dessert (peach cobbler) and coffee. So I have to make some choices. Lots of beans and salad, and small lasagna, and just the peaches in the cobbler. Can that work?
But come Tuesday, I know I will be back OP. That is my choice.
Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend. Ann

p.s. My asparagus soup was very good and I expect it to be better tonight, as the herbs will have flavored it more. That was my something new.

You guys rock! Your posts definately reflect more pluses than minuses!

I am drinking "restaurant water," as my DS has coined it! I bought an elcheapo, pretty blue, plastic goblet for my water today. Cut up a lemon, and Voila! "Restaurant Water!"

Marcie, I have to try the 'shrooms! They are becoming a big favorite of mine. I like the idea of water everytime you go in the kitchen...and the bathroom is even better! I can avoid the kitchen all day, but the other.....inevitable!

Ellis, you are hereby awarded the "Purple Cross" for being so sweet even though you are "cross." Tuesday will be here before you know it!

Ruth, you rule the roost! Keep up the great work!

2dog-yummm, scampi.....sounds delish! I like the Florentine Eggs and Ham, too. Much better than green eggs and ham!
Keep up the good work and share those recipes! That's an order!

Lizzie-I had to laugh when I read your post...I WAS a sergeant (well, a staff sergeant) when I was in the AF! But no one called me "Sergeant Franny!" Maybe because that's not my name? You seem to have a really good handle on the upcoming challenges, and I honestly think that is more than half the battle. It is always better to plan ahead, even if that means eating off plan, than it is to just "go for it" on a whim. Way to go!

gofishin-Yikes, remind me not to get on your bad side! I'm happy to report that I ATE ON PLAN ALL STINKIN' DAY! It just about killed me to watch everyone else eat ribs and grilled corn while I ate my chicken breast and green beans, but I did it. I also survived a trip to McDonalds (salad) and a rushed breakfast (cottage cheese.) I didn't get any exercise in, but rushed around like a mad woman sewing a dress my DH needs for a wedding this next weekend. Does that count?

Nikii-Drink, Drink, Drink...and in case you didn't get the message...DRINK! I think I'll start wearing my "camel pack"...one of those backpacks that actually holds water and has a tube to suck on. Now THAT would do the trick!

Tomorrow is a holiday, so you can all just take the day off...

NOT! Just plan for your challenges and you can make it through! I know you can!
