Welcome. 1-2 pounds a week is a great target and it seems you have that. So -- CONGRATs. But, if it is low carb is really just water loss due to the nature of how the body reacts when there are fewer carbs floating around, perhaps you aren't losing fat at all and you are taking in too many calories. Have you diaried what you are eating and if you are exercising?
If your loss goal is only 30 pounds, you probably aren't THAT overweight. The closer one is to a lower body weight, the harder it is to lose because your basic caloric needs get lower as you aren't lugging as much weight around as someone that has 100 pounds to lose. For me, when I had 70 to lose, the first 30 came off easy, peasy once I put my mind to it. The next 20 took a bit more doing on my part. My plan is pretty simple - I added exercise and reduced calorie intake. Now, with 15-20 to go, it has slowed down. I am no longer carrying around the equivalent of 5 12 packs of soda, so it takes less energy for me to get myself around and less when I exercise. The reality is that I can only eat so little and I can only exercise so long. So, now my goal is .5-1 pound/week.
I enter my weight to an online program called TrendWeight. It links automatically via my Fitbit. It works for me to see that, even though I have some ups and downs, the basic trend is going down and that keeps me on track.
Other support on this board is the challenges. I am sure there will be a New Years one. Join a challenge! Its super fun !!!!
