Wink 100lbs in 12 Mos

I am 37 yrs old and I have a Beautiful and AMAZING 5 yr old daughter. I have promised her that I am taking her to Disneyland. (I have been MANY times, BUT, I live in AL now and it's not as easy as it used to be when I lived in CA) She LOVES Nightmare before Christmas. SO...I am setting a goal and a date. I want to take her for Christmas in 2017! I WILL DROP 100LBS BY THEN! I have to if I want to be able to walk around the park with her for a few days.

I do have things working against me and that will not stop me. I have Spina Bifida. It's just a bump in the road...not a stop sign. I'm just looking for a few people for support, motivation and to keep me accountable!

Hello and Welcome!!!

100lbs is a lot in just 1 year, but if you believe you can do it, then AWESOME!! Are you going to do a specific diet? or are you going to eat fresh and workout more?

Let us know what your plan is

I would love to lose 100lbs by next Christmas I wanted to lose 1lb a week this year and I started on the second week of January, which is 49 weeks until the week of Christmas. I wanted to lose 50lbs I am currently 41.4 and playing catch up. I have 2 weddings next year and would love to be 100lbs down if not more by then. (started at 323lbs and heading to 168lbs).

Stick around and let us know how things are getting on, join in some of the challenges, they are great for accountability.

I would love to lose 100 pounds in a year. I have tried to do it many times and failed. I am 38 years old, have 4 kids, and my current weight is 256. I live in in TN so we are neighbors. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I am starting fresh and have a basic plan in place but that is all.

I'm also shooting for 100 pounds in a year, and have a Disney trip planned for the end of the trip. I'm happy to cheer you on if you'll do the same for me.

You can do it.... I have the same goal and started yesterday. Im starting off light with the exercise for the first 2 weeks and focusing more on a protein and veggies type of diet. Good luck!!

It can totally be done! Once your "head" is straight, the rest kind of follows. It took me 13 months to lose that much but I'm old

oh and Scotsgal, we're twins! I had the same start weight/end ! I'm a bit taller and a hundred years older probably but still

Along with weight, you may want to take measurements and keep track of NSVs (non-scale victories). One of the things that tends to offtrack me in past attempts is when the weight loss inevitably slows. If I expect to see two pounds gone each week like clockwork, I get discouraged when it's "only" a pound or even none for a couple of weeks. I HAVE to look at more than just the number on the scale or I will get sidetracked and discouraged.

I look at things like:
  • Is it easier for me to go up and down stairs?
  • Is it easier for me to get out of bed and moving around in the morning?
  • Have I been consistently on-plan today?
  • Can I walk longer with less pain and achiness?
  • Can I do more/longer time on the elliptical or using my exercise tapes?

Any of those is a victory, and tells me that this IS working, no matter what the number on the scale says.

well I feel a bit of a fraud cuz I didn't really do a diet plan per se. So many people on here are great at analyzing every morsel down to the molecular level lol but I basically counted calories for about a week to have my eyes opened, and then ate about 1/2 to 1/3 of what I used to! I always ate lots of veg & fruit, but cut out added sugar and junk food - it was soooo easy to get McDonalds & DQ after a long day! cut out the mindless eating after dinner. Got up off my butt to walk and 'extreme house cleaning' is a personal fav

Before I did any of that I spent some time with a therapist to understand WHY I was so heavy and what would ever be different when I would try and try to lose weight. So once I discovered I'm a spoiled brat at heart HA it was a bit easier to plan and get my head around things. Once my head was a on straight it was easier for sure!

Cool Amusment park lover

I love that you're motivation is taking your daughter to Disney! I remember the first time I got turned away from an amusement park ride because of my size... it was the first time my weight had gotten in the way of me doing something that I love, and I dream of returning so that I can do all the things I missed out on. 100 lbs is ambitious, but I genuinely hope that you make it, and that you and your daughter make the most happy, lifelong memories.

Current weight: 295
Goal for Feb 28th: 280
Overall Goal: <180 by my 30th birthday 12/2018 & to fit back into my favorite jeans
