And we finally got some rain! Not a lot so far but it sure cooled things off for sleeping!
Book club went well last night - we even discussed the book, albeit briefly. Food was just fine - simple fruit and cheese and crackers. (I don't know why I fuss ... except that I really love cooking.) Storebought dip for the veggies was just fine.
Looks like I'll be picking up the Mill bread order in the rain. At least the car will get washed clean. There is no Milling this weekend so perhaps there won't be as many visitors so I may be able to be "on call" rather than on site.
We got a downpour of rain last night and it is supposed to be rainy for several days here. Hopefully it will stay dry for the Paul McCartney concert this evening as it's an outdoor event at the baseball stadium. Going to try and get a pedi done this afternoon and need to run and pick up my new workout shoes that came in got a great deal at them online at JCPenny's.
Ruth glad that you all got rain and hopefully you will get more. Fingers crossed for a light day at the Mill.
Rain, rain, rain go Ruth's way!!! Hope you weren't too busy at the Mill.
Beth your snacking comment made me giggle. I just got back from grocery shopping. It was tough, but I didn't buy ice cream!
Pearlrose you've seen more concerts this summer than I have in my life lol. Enjoy Sir Paul.
Nice getting home at 3:30. So miserably hot and humid here too. I cleaned at work today. The third floor of the building where my office is located is not part of the cleaning contract. Truthfully I do a better job and don't mind doing it. The previous Captain was a neat freak and he did it too. Now if I could only motivate myself to clean here lol. Tomorrow will be spent cleaning at Noe's new house in preparation of them moving in. Thankfully his new home has central AC! No other plans for my two days off.
It rained more in the afternoon which I spent here at my desk. Not sure how much we got but my car is spotless - maybe 1/2"? - but there is more predicted this coming week. Temperatures will be running well above normal though!
Nothing on the schedule today so I'll probably do "The Big Domestic" as DH used to call it - odds and sods of neglected tasks like watering house plants and cleaning out the fridge. The dogs will love having me around all day.
(I'll let you know if something more exciting evolves!
I actually slept in until almost 8, felt good though. The concert was great and the weather held up, woke up to rain and I think it is supposed to stick around for a few more days. Did get the house cleaned yesterday and got my pedi as well and a grocery run so it was a productive day. Not sure what we are doing today.
Ruth so glad you all are getting rain, enjoy your day
Beth I know when I am home I have to up will power to not snack on stuff I shouldn't
Jekel still have 1 more concert to go this upcoming Friday, trying to talk DH into talking DD2 and her friend to 5 seconds of summer. We got this tickets for them a long time ago and I am kinda of tired of attending concerts lol. DD wants me to take them so it will probably be me, at least it's a Friday night so no early wakeups the next morning. Joe is finally moving into his new house seems like the new house has been a project that went on for a few years so he must be excited.
Debbie hope you are enjoying your family vacation.
