Default Friday and Cooler at Last!

Seems we are going to get a wee break in the heat and humidity but still no much needed rain. There is lots of concern about wells running dry. So far this summer, rainfall has been less than half of any summer and the crops are suffering.

Sister Joan and I had a delightful lunch in Ottawa with my "new" cousins, Angela and Coleen. Long story but I'm glad we discovered them. Spent part of the meeting drawing family trees and laughing over family stories and legends. We will definitely do that again, maybe in the fall when the city mice come here to visit the country mice.

More excitement tonight when we have a dinner party at Karen's house. Her son. Ben, has just completed a project building a greenhouse above the Arctic Circle so the Inuit are able to have fresh veggies way up there. Ben brought back caribou meat and Arctic char and is a whiz as BBQ chef so it should be a fun (and delicious) event. (I'll have to make it a fairly early night as I will be selling bread at the Mill in the morning and also supervise set-up for a fish fry event that evening.)

Time to crank up the day although the dogs are back in their bed and that looks very tempting.

What are your plans for the weekend in your section of he world?

Hello chicks!

I am back home after a tiring and emotional week. Mom is now set up in her assisted living apartment and Dad is recovering in rehab after more surgery. Here's hoping and praying August is MUCH calmer than June and July!

Ruth, your bat story made me laugh! I remember one summer we had several instances of bats in the house. I find the noise of them flying overhead to be a bit creepy when I'm trying to sleep! Glad you got the critter out without using the tennis racket.

Debbie, another big construction job for you. Hope it is going well.

Pearlrose, the concerts and events sound great!

Today I am going to do laundry and hit up the DMV. We are buying one of my parents cars for DS2. The DMV is always such fun. Not.

Have a good day chicks.

Good morning,

It looks to finally be a better day around here, actually went for my walk this morning outside for a change. Hopefully humidity will stay down as the temps are only going into 80s today. The concert was great last night but hard to get up this morning thank goodness its a wfh day might work outside for a bit. I got my latest new laptop and looks like #6 is a charm everything is working and it has not crashed so I think this one is a keeper...though I miss my smaller laptop this is one is bigger.

Ruth sounds like you had a fun evening last night and have fun plans for tonight enjoy

Beth glad that you have your parents settled, I always worry about when we will need to that for both DH and mine parents- hopefully not for a very long time.

Have a great day everyone!!
