Friday and Cooler at Last!
Seems we are going to get a wee break in the heat and humidity but still no much needed rain. There is lots of concern about wells running dry. So far this summer, rainfall has been less than half of any summer and the crops are suffering.
Sister Joan and I had a delightful lunch in Ottawa with my "new" cousins, Angela and Coleen. Long story but I'm glad we discovered them. Spent part of the meeting drawing family trees and laughing over family stories and legends. We will definitely do that again, maybe in the fall when the city mice come here to visit the country mice.
More excitement tonight when we have a dinner party at Karen's house. Her son. Ben, has just completed a project building a greenhouse above the Arctic Circle so the Inuit are able to have fresh veggies way up there. Ben brought back caribou meat and Arctic char and is a whiz as BBQ chef so it should be a fun (and delicious) event. (I'll have to make it a fairly early night as I will be selling bread at the Mill in the morning and also supervise set-up for a fish fry event that evening.)
Time to crank up the day although the dogs are back in their bed and that looks very tempting.
What are your plans for the weekend in your section of he world?
