Default Finally Friday after a long week

Friday finally! Some weeks seem extra long!

Robyn came to pick up her dress after supper last night and it was perfect. The darn overskirt was 12 yards around. Sure was glad it was unfinished so I just had to cut off four inches to get the right length. She brought three girlfriends along for the final show so I'm glad everything was perfect. It's prom night tonight and I sure hope everyone is safe - every year there seems to be a booze and car incident. Crazy kids, booze, cars and dark country roads are a bad combo.

Just realized it's book club night and I have not read the book. That sure won't happen today because I am going out for lunch with my sister. Of course, I'll go to book club anyhow since it's really an excuse for a party. It's down at the Lake - Toni and Gus have a large screened gazebo that faces the sunset over the Lake which can be pretty spectacular. We always plan the June meeting at their place.

Time to do a few things around the house before the heat gets settled in. Tomorrow is supposed to be really hot - so thankful for AC!

Good morning Ruth thanks for starting us off today. The other chicks must already be off and running as it seems like no one ever gets to sleep in lol. Glad the dress was a simple fix. Have fun tonight at "the club."

I may bathe and groom Coconut before work. It's nice so I can take care of him outside. I need to be home before work for a FedEx delivery. Food is prepped and ready to go. I've really been enjoying salads with just a touch of red wine vinegar. Otherwise same old story here. No TGIF for me as it's technically my Thursday. I am looking forward to riding the Bronx River Parkway again Sunday. I'm not going kyacking with Joe and his kids, but will meet up with them for dinner afterwards. I'm ok with that as I have been really motivated lately to take care of my needs a little better.

Sophie glad your oven was a simple fix. Repairs can be so costly. My buddy Joh is having a full kitchen overhaul. Lucky me, he is giving me their microwave. It's only 3 years old. Mine is 18! The stove and fridge are 17. Definitely got my monies worth from all of them.

Have a blast today

Good morning!

Yes Ruth some weeks seem extra long. This was one. 12 yards is a lot of under skirt. I'm glad it was you not me. How nice of you to do that for her. Have fun tonight!

Kirk was already in Alaska by the time I made it home yesterday. For all the miles I drove I could have gone to another state.. I set up a massage here for 830 this morning so I would just keep going and not be tempted just to stay over.

I'm going to go to my massage then Laurie and I will go down to my noon meeting. After that we will meet up with Susan to empty my vehicle of all of her stuff. Laurie is going to stay down there with her for a few days. That is good. I need a break.

I'm tired this morning but will feel better after my smoothie. Have a great Friday everyone!

Hi Jennifer! I guess technically today is my Wednesday. LOL. I savor the time I can spend at home these days. Thanks for the mention of better self-care. I'm going to take advantage of Kirk being gone and try some of that myself. Starting with food. I've already cleaned out the refrigerator this morning. I hope work is smooth today.

Good morning,

It is beautiful here this morning, the mugginess (is that a word) is gone at least for this morning, so I did a 2 mile walk outside. I am already working hard since I am at home.

I will leaving to go to a conference in LA on Monday really looking forward to it as DH and DD2 and a GF of her's are flying out with me. We will stay at conference hotel until next Friday and then move to a hotel that is around the corner from Disneyland and do that next week and will meet up with a friend of mine who works for LAPD, we used to do the same job when we were in the military so we have know each other forever

Ruth so nice of you to fix that dress and I hope you enjoy book club this evening

Jekel that is great that you are getting a newer microwave out of their deal. I agree we all need to make sure we take some time and take care of ourselves, I am slowly learning that and try but not always so easy.

Debbie sounds like you did do a lot of driving yesterday, glad you got everything done and scheduled a massage for yourself.

Welcome back Cyndi!

Jenn glad you are the road to recovery

Sophie glad it wasn't too bad of a fix.

Beth I am sure you are on count down to Summer

to everyone else

Good Morning.

I too am so glad my work week is over. Looking forward to working around the house this week and maybe doing a little something for me. Jennifer and Debbie, you may have just inspired me to start thinking about myself a little more. Enjoy book club Ruth. I love when a business trip can end in a vacation Pearlrose. I live about 30 minutes from Disneyland. We are supposed to have record breaking heat on Monday but luckily no humidity.

I'm off to work now, fingers crossed today goes smoothly and I can sneak out a little early. Have a great day everyone!

Good evening! I didn't want to start posting again until I was reasonably sure I would be able to stick with it this time I started this round at 292 and have lost 10 pounds, and that's a good sign, so I thought I'd join in. Also, it's summer and I'm only teaching two days a week.

Hello, Ruth, jekel, Lexxiss and pearlrose. Dawn, I don't think we've met -- hi!

This is supposed to be my relaxing time of year, but I've had various issues, mostly to do with my apartment and its management (plumbing problems, noise problems, an air conditioner set by the building and unchangeable that shoves out air that I measured at 59.4 degrees) but otherwise things are going well. Ths is about my 5th try at South Beach. I've always let something get in its way (my fault) and really want to stick with it. I've been up and down, up and down. About a month ago I had two weird health issues -- inflammed muscles in my back and arm at the same time as really awful indigestion. I didn't eat much for three days and dropped six pounds. That seemed like a good sign!

Have a good weekend, everyone!
