I hate to see May go for another year but she sure did a good job on chasing the winter gloom. Now we are all complaining about the heat and lack of rain.
My white iris is in bloom - two weeks earlier than last year! (Yes I'm a garden bloom record geek!) The wild phlox is starting and the fragrance on the back deck is almost overwhelming. Next up - the Japanese Lilac and my grandmother's very old mock orange bush, moved here from the old farm in 1928.
Got lots done yesterday and was not down to the Mill or Town Hall even once although

I did call to remind staff of garbage pick-up. I did have coffee with the UC folk and welcomed back some of our summer residents - lots of American accents and licence plates have started. I got the side and front flower boxes done (and watered in) and plan to do the back deck herbs and salad greens today.
Just had an almond milk, frozen raspberry and yogurt shake which should hold me for the morning. I am really trying to get back to clean eating and buying almond milk by mistake is helping!
Enjoy this lovely Farewell to May Day!
