Default Tuesday - The last day of glorious May!

I hate to see May go for another year but she sure did a good job on chasing the winter gloom. Now we are all complaining about the heat and lack of rain.

My white iris is in bloom - two weeks earlier than last year! (Yes I'm a garden bloom record geek!) The wild phlox is starting and the fragrance on the back deck is almost overwhelming. Next up - the Japanese Lilac and my grandmother's very old mock orange bush, moved here from the old farm in 1928.

Got lots done yesterday and was not down to the Mill or Town Hall even once although I did call to remind staff of garbage pick-up. I did have coffee with the UC folk and welcomed back some of our summer residents - lots of American accents and licence plates have started. I got the side and front flower boxes done (and watered in) and plan to do the back deck herbs and salad greens today.

Just had an almond milk, frozen raspberry and yogurt shake which should hold me for the morning. I am really trying to get back to clean eating and buying almond milk by mistake is helping!

Enjoy this lovely Farewell to May Day!

Good morning Ruth and chicks to come.

Welcome SpammieB!!!!

Ruth you certainly were busy again this weekend! Your morning shake sounds delicious. I skip fruit in the morning, unless I am away. I enjoy it in the evening as a dessert. Usually fresh strawberries or peaches over no fat Plain Greek Yogurt. I top it with Kind cinnamon cluster granola. So delicious. This is the time of year I want ice cream. So I use my yogurt parfait as a substitute. I can't keep ice cream in the house. The serving size on the box lies. Lol I don't think I've ever enjoyed 14 servings individually from a half gallon container...more like 3!

I know I was on here yesterday but guess I forgot grit to post. Stayed home since I was on call. Luckily I wasn't woken but did have several calls to field. Otherwise I did manage to pressure wash most of my house. I skipped the second floor as it wasn't terrible, but the bees were! They were super angry lol. House looked so clean which lead to me washing all the windows. My new AC comes today. Yesterday I moved furniture and other things to give them space to work. At the moment all the windows are open and the birds are singing so pretty this morning. Today's plans all revolve around the AC. I am going to try and go to a wake in NJ. My friend Kara from college grandma passed away. She was 99 and 3/4. She said the secret to a long and health life is a jelly doughnut each day. She may have been in to something. She had all her mental faculties and baby sat for Kara. She didn't use a cane either! I think that is impressive!!!! Going to cut up my veggies and make my salads for the week.

Ruth we need a monthly stickie

Have a great day everyone!

Hello chicks

I've been away so long. We were away for awhile this winter and when we came home all **** broke out with me. I've been sick since the beginning of March. I'll spare you all the details but the grand finale was passing out in costco and a one week stay in hospital with a fluid diet. The result of all this is a 17lbs lost, not a good way to lose and more appointments with specialists to follow. The only thing I'm grateful for is that its not terminal and that all this happened on canadian soil.
I have gained about 2lbs of the lost and trying not to regain.
Ruth. See your as busy as ever.
Jen. Good for you. You are in good shape.
will try to pop in here from time to time.
take care
Sophie

Sophie hope you feel better soon. That had to be scary!!!! Glad you stopped in to say hi. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Pearlrose it is a wall until. Unfortunately the one I ordered is a little too big!!!! So instead of a simple install, I am trying to get the "regular" installation crew to come today. They are really trying to make this happen, plus I'm still entitled to the installation rebate. Normally it's $250 but the rebate brings it down to 97.97. Yeah!!!! Now I have this huge box which I can't move and my furniture is moved in the living room ugh. They can't come today Guess I have to live with the upset until Saturday. I don't feel like moving everything back.
