Default Thankful Thursday May 26

Thankful for a good solid sleep and scent of lilacs wafting through the bedroom window. Even the dogs are sleeping until they hear me upstairs and are greeting me with tail wags rather than barking.

Got to town yesterday morning before the heat hit hard and picked up another load of plants. Did not get any of them planted because it was quite uncomfortable by afternoon. I was thankful for my AC in the house and did catch up on some deskwork. This morning I'll work on the deck and porch planters - the veggie bed will have to wait until Moel primes the pump behind the barn so I can water in the transplants without lugging water from the house.

Later today we have a delivery of new tables and chairs to the Town Hall - bad timing since we've not found a place to get rid of the old ones! Katherine and I have to be there so we can get the guys to set things up for Open Doors this weekend.

Time for eggs and asparagus again for breakfast. I wish I liked smoothies. I have not been eating properly, I'm afraid, and I know better. I need a nanny!

Good morning, Ruth and chicks to come!

Ruth, I hope your day goes as planned and you have pretty flowers everywhere!

It's a beautiful day at this moment. We may have rain later. I'm just having my 1st cup of coffee but I'm going to get going shortly. I have a lot I'd like to accomplish before the rain comes. My little irrigation system turned out pretty nice. I got all the plants planted in the bids am going to wait to set the timers for another day. My mother had the plants while we were in Vegas and several of them were super super wet. I don't think they need any more water yet.

Sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds. I sure do love them!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning today I am thankful for the miracle of life. I've attended too many wakes and funerals recently. Well I am happy to report my niece and nephew welcomed their miracle baby Audrey Lucille to the world. My nephew was always told he was unable to have children. Maybe medical science helped who knows. I for one doesn't care lol. She is perfect!!!

Ruth I miss my lilacs. I too love the smell. I am hoping my peonies bloom soon. Any tricks /advice for getting rid of the ants that like to hang out with them?

Debbie sounds like your project went really well. Your plants will thank you!!!

I actually ditched the bike for weeding time yesterday. Looks good too since Hugo and crew came to cut the grass. Working again today but meeting up with John, Brian and one of our Chief's for dinner. She has been home recovering from surgery. I already know what I am going to eat. I've lost one pound this month which puts me 4 under my goal weight. I told myself when I hit my super goal lol I will go for a physical. I'm over due and the last time I went to see this dr I weighed 156. I know that is a healthy weight for me, but my body feels so much better when I am in the 140's. It's been a real challenge getting there this time. I blane hormones lol. That reminds me that annual will be here in July ugh lol

Have a thankful not a thankless day

Good morning,

I am thankful to be working from home for the rest of the week and having a 3 day weekend. Will try to catch up on some work today and this evening have haircuts scheduled.

Ruth hope your day goes well today, hard to believe we are already using a/c when last week had to crank the furnance back on, crazy weather.

Debbie glad you got your project done. I do like listening to the birds in the morning it's very calming

Jekel you are doing great with your weight, I had a couple of days of too many carbs climbing into my diet and the scale went up so I am working on getting those off, 1 came off this morning.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Debbie, I need to get DH to get me a hummingbird feeder and put it on our back porch. I think you've seen the view from our porch over that field? It would be even better with those beautiful little birds flitting everywhere! Maybe you'll see it in person one day .

Pretty boring day, and that's the way I like it . I do have a friend dropping by in the morning for a visit, and another one around 11:30. Ummmm...hope I stay awake, LOL!! I do need to get DH out sometime. Maybe rent a cabin or go camping? Not sure what we'll do. Poor guy really needs to get out though. Is there a kayaking emoticon?!?

(I looked, no camping emoticons...such a shame....)

Hey chicks! I'm still here, just very busy this week. Pearlrose, I wish our school was over now! This is such a great time of year and there is so much to do planting, weeding and watering.

Jennifer, congrats on the weight goal AND the new family addition!

Tammy, at this time of year I like to watch the bird bath. Enjoy your visit and hope you are feeling better!

Debbie, I'm glad your greenhouse and irrigation projects are working out so well.

Ruth, the weekend weather is looking to be even hotter than the last few days. DH cleaned and prepped our AC but we haven't turned it on yet.

I'm thankful for the long weekend. Tomorrow was added onto our break since we had snow days we didn't use.
