Default What's your motivation?

For me it was to focus of my health. We all have the common goal of losing weight but what is motivating you to try to lose weight? Is it health, just want to look/feel more attractive or something else? Really curious what everyone's end-game goal/feeling is associated with weight loss!

LoveDance This is such a great question. For me it was my health as well. I had an aunt that passed away last March from complications of diabetes. She really didn't manage her diabetes too well. She didn't watch her diet or exercise. She's the fourth aunt on my fathers side to pass away this way. That was my second motivator.

I want to do whatever I can to prevent it, if that's possible. My doctor even said something to me last year about my weight. So this year when she saw me she was really pleased with the weight that I had lost. I want to try within this weight range and eat healthy as much as possible. However, I do have my bad days but it doesn't last long.

Thanks for sharing your story! I think that rings true for many people, seeing family suffer from health-issues is hard. I think the positive change you've made is great not only for yourself but will be an inspiration to your family and others to change their lives for the healthier.

Very inspirational, thanks for sharing! I've seen something similar on YouTube, it was a older lady in her 70's who was out of shape and never really exercised and then decided she was going to become a bodybuilder/fitness instructor, and she did! Not only did she look amazing, it was another great example of how you can achieve anything if you, like you said, believe in yourself and just go for it.

This might sound a bit morbid but I just don't want to die at an early age. Just the idea of not seeing my kids grow up scares me.

Well, I kind of have a story...

My turning point was after my 18 month battle with Cancer. I'm now 18 months Cancer free. But for the first year after my battle with Cancer I went through a great deal of strife (and also was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of going through the trauma of Cancer, which is not uncommon.) Anyway... As I began to heal, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had been given a second chance at life. I wanted to be healthy: mind, body, spirit. I owed it to myself.

SO... here I am... 18 months since I began my journey to wellness.

I'm motivated by balance, by being healthy as a whole. And yes, by feeling my best and admittedly so, looking better

I've made a lot of life changes, not only just weight wise...

Things are going well. And for that I'm grateful

I want to be able to do what I want without my weight being an obstacle. Want to climb a mountain, ok go. Want to wear that cute outfit, ok get it.

The pain that all this fat causes me! Every single day I'm in so much pain, and it just doesn't let up!

Also, I was so HAPPY when I was @ 175 in size 14/16. It's funny because I thought I was so fat back then, but looking back on it, I was so free & happy!

Great question! After dropping to 117 I've ballooned back u to 180. None of my clothes fit . So I really need to fit into my old clothes. Also I want to stop myself from becoming a pre diabetic.
