Default Thankful Thursday Again - April 28

Woke at 5:30 feeling a great sense of relief that I'm past the lunch event which was a huge success. These folk are all a bit lah-dee-dah, complete with Brit accents, and said of all the tours they'd been on in the past ten years, this was the best lunch ever. Very gratifying, even if not true. We sold all the leftover bread for a goodly profit and several folks said they'd be back for other events during the summer.

BUT ... best of all ... we have a Mill member who is willing to take over as Treasurer. I'll have to break her in on some of the reporting requirements but she already has done bookkeeping for a business down in the Niagara area so should understand most of the rules. Whew!

Life is good - if you don't weaken. Now some coffee, heavy-duty Tylenol for my still aching bruises and on to whatever comes next.

Good morning, Ruth, and congratulations on a couple of levels. Great to hear the luncheon was a success and received so many compliments and YEE HAW on being able to pass along the Treasurer duties! I am not worried you will not become a hermit so it is good to be able to lighten your load a bit. Hope your bruises heal quickly.

The sun is shining and the weekend looks to be quite nice. I am looking forward to being able to spend some time outdoors.

Since this is Thankful Thursday, I will be thankful for the arrival of spring with things that are green and blooming. I can't wait to get some veggies going in the garden.

Have a great day, chicks.

WOO HOO for you, Ruth!! I meant for the treasurer part, but I'm really glad your luncheon went well too!

Beth - can you plant some veggies for me?

I am also grateful for everything coming in green. I had another (bizarre!) test at Hershey Monday, which is nearly 2 hours away. It was interesting to see how much more green it was down there than here. OH THE GREEN!! I LOVE IT!! It makes my heart so happy . In about a week, the mountains will be that green here!! I told my hubby, who is still a little resentful we didn't move to Colorado, that their mountains may be huge and gorgeous, but ours are so GREEN!!!! (it didn't make him feel better, LOL)

Today I may make a trip to the necessary evil, which is WalMart. I need a few things, and definitely better to not go on the weekend. I think it's leftovers tonight, since the kids' schedule is a little crazy - DD has her choir concert tonight! Unfortunately, they have politics there too. She tried out for a solo, everyone said how awesome she did, but it was given to a girl who a) didn't try out, b) doesn't even go to their school!! She transferred to a local...public branch school, and somehow is still allowed in our school's choir. SMH. I told my DD, "welcome to the world of politics". At least she was warned that the same 3 people get the solos every year.

Onward ho!

Good morning Greening up like crazy around here too, in spite of the 27 degree mornings. I really hope this was the last of those. We are buying one more bag of pellets, but just adding a little at a time. Today and tomorrow I get to be outside while working, so not as sad as I was yesterday when the birds were hopping around and I was inside. Because it's science class, I even get to bring my binoculars

Ruth - Wow, sounds like an incredibly successful day all around. Congratulations on the new treasurer. That should help your summer a little.

Beth - I hope spring finds its way to your house soon! I am putting more roots and greens in this weekend. I can't wait for that garden to get going

Tammy - So disappointing for your daughter. I hope all those tests finally get you closer to what you need. I love mountains, but the growing season is short enough here. I like the balance of less snow, but an hour from a good peak.

Time to get this day moving. I am in summer wake-up mode, up at 5:45 long before the alarm. If it wasn't so cold out I'd have considered and early nirding trip, but not at this temperature. Maybe this weekend.

Good green morning to everyone. My grass is looking extra lush today. Hopefully the landscaper starts making his rounds soon as Coconut is getting lost in it.

Ruth I am so thankful someone stepped up to the plate. Your life definitely keeps you busy. Hopefully you will now get more Ruth time.

Beth our weekend looks like it will be a wash so I will get outdoors before work. I'm planting a few veggies in pots on my patio this year.

Tammy hope your bizarre lol test gives the doctor some answers. Poor DD Politics in schools makes me nuts. When DS was in elementary school the PTA clique really didn't associate with mom's who worked outside the home. I give DD a lot of credit trying out. I wasn't that brave when I was younger.

Just the normal routine before work. Today I am thankful for my neighbor, Jim. He trimmed the wild rose bush behind my garage!!! It is one thorny angry rose bush that never blooms lol. Hope the sun brings a smile to your face. Have a great day!

Good Morning!

On the fly. Yesterdays trip to the rental didn't go as planned. I found 2 leaks in bathroom which couldn't just be ignored. Called my helper and plumber. She wouldn't be home until later so I crawled in bed and tried to just chill.

Thankfully, even though we have a big mess (had to rip a wall) it is fixable. She has plans tomorrow so I think we will be able to make a push and finish today. Yay!

Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon,

Tried to stop by this a.m. but was too busy and needed to leave to go to work. Lunch meeting went well I brought my own even though there were quite a few things that were op, I am trying to be strict with my eating right now.

I am thankful for all of the green despite wanting to rip my eyes out for the itching

Ruth so happy for you that you found a replacement and that the luncheon was a success

Beth hope you are enjoying your day

Tywnn I hate the politics in school so I just avoid them haha. Hope your test reveals something good....

Cyndi love the typo haha

Jekel our grass is growing like crazy especially with all the rain we are getting.

Debbie sorry to hear about plumbing issues but glad they are getting fixed.

Enjoy your afternoon
