Default Monday Coffee Is Ready!

Sunshine and a bit shivery this morning with snow still in the forecast for Tuesday, goldurnit! Well, they've been wrong before.

Still too bruised and sore to go back to the gym so coffee first and then I crank up my day. Today I hard-boil and peel 5 dozen eggs - wish me luck - and then I make apple crisp for 60 to be baked and then reheated on Wednesday. Anybody have room in their fridge?

After such a great weekend with the Hyper Pypers and family, I am feeling just a little down on sleep. I hope to rectify that tonight. The dogs are pooped from the kennel visit and will spend the day zzzing in their new comfy bed. They love it because it's big and they can snuggle on it together. Millie sometimes lies on her back and wiggles waving her feet in the air just enjoying the comfort.

The forsythia is in full bloom and the daffies are making it a yellow world punctuated with the blue scilla carpet. It's here! I plan to ignore tomorrow's weather forecast but think I'll pick some flowers today just in case!

Enjoy the day and be nice to yourself - even if it's just taking time to rub in some hand cream which I've been neglecting to do.

Sounds like you had a great weekend, Ruth! Do the dogs like it enough that they'll sleep in more? I think I'd go insane peeling 5 dozen eggs....(and might eat way too much of the apple crisp myself....). BTW - I LOVE Cavaliers...great little dogs!

Wow, DD sure was generous sharing this nasty cold. Poor girl, I think her issue on Friday was a super high heart rate, I'm hoping from the meds, so she refuses to take any now. Kids are so resilient though!

I need to do a couple of niggles today, and I hope to enjoy the sunshine just a tad. We have a high of 80 today?!? (that's actually TOO warm, IMHO!)

Good morning Ruth. Yikes that's a lot of eggs and apple crisp. Glad you enjoyed your time with the Pypers.

I am leading a small group of riders today. I planned, thanks to John,ma scenic route around the Croton Reservoir. I think some of the hills will be challenging even for me. Afterwards Pameka and I will grab lunch before she heads back to Long Island. Once I get home I must do housework, weekly chores and grocery shopping done. I could use a clone until the ride is over.

The baby shower was nice. My niece got lots of duplicates from her registry which was surprising. Seems there was a software issue. I did get myself two summer dresses. One will be for our Chapter dinner when we are in DC. The other one is for who knows, I just thought it was cute. I also bought 3 tops, so 3 things from my closet will be going to good will.

Time to fetch my trash can from the curb. Have a great day!

Good morning!

Thanks for the coffee, Ruth! I'm enjoying it immensely this morning! I guess the forecast of snow is a legitimate reason to stay in side and peel lots of eggs. Pick some flowers though and have a great day!

Tammy, I agree, 80° is too hot. It seems we jump from freezing cold to superhot with nothing much in between. LOL I hope you get some sunshine today.

I got the report yesterday on Facebook that the hummingbirds are back so I have made a batch of nectar and need to put it out before I go to work. I planted some more seed in my greenhouse yesterday. I've got quite a batch of stuff going. It's a learning process for me and yesterday I determined that I was going to have to do something very soon to actually keep my greenhouse cooler. I ordered a automatic opening vent and did some reading. I also need a shade cloth which I am researching today. my sister and I had bought a bunch of starts. Basil, kale, parsley, tomato plants. I repotted them last Thursday and they are growing like crazy. It's exciting!

That's my news. Another two days of work. The new computer is great. It's saved me so many trips yesterday and I could actually stand up when I got home. LOL

Have a great day everyone! It's time for more coffee!

Good Morning -

Ruth - Apple Crisp for 60 ? How big is your fridge? I am afraid I would not be able to bake that and not eat it. 5 dozen eggs. Do you have a trick to peeling them? I saw on tv if you put them in a jar and shake they peel quicker. I haven't tried it yet though.

Tammy - Hope your DD feels better soon. We had weather in the 80's on Saturday. It was amazing. Today it is rainy and in the 50's.

Jennifer - Enjoy your ride!

Lexxis- Hummingbirds are my favorite. Do you get a lot of them? At one of my last rentals we had so many in the yard. I can't put feeders out at this rental though

I started using my fitpal and even after eating untilI felt I could not eat anymore only had 1,000 calories yesterday. I had 80g carbs which I know we do not count but I did read a typical day could be 130g on SB Phase 2. I am off to get my injections at 10 and then planning on crawling into bed the rest of the day. I actually planned ahead last night and made refrigerator oatmeal which I just ate. It was so yummy and nice variation from eggs.

Have a great day all. I will check back later.

Good morning,

WFH day for me and looking forward to the quiet. I did get most of the weeding done yesterday just have a tiny part left to do but my back was starting to tightening up and oon't want to take any chances with it.

I am not a good nurse getting tired of waiting on DD2 hand and food I was glad she had to go to school today so I could have a bit of rest. I will go pick her up from school so she doesn't ride the bus home.

Ruth I hope if you do get snow that this is the last time of the season. That is a lot of food, I have no room in mine with all the veggies I purchased.

Tywnn hope you and your DD feel better soon

Jekel have fun on the ride sounds like it will be fun

Debbie glad to hear the new computer at work is helping you

Nicole hope you feel okay after your injections, when I stay completely on plan I have trouble getting my calories up as well, I will throw in a handful of nuts to increase.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, chicks. Just stopping by to join in the chatter. Regular work day here; it is sunny and warmish so I will try to take my walk outside today. I'm going to try Cyndi's recipe from yesterday for dinner tonight; it looks yummy!

Ruth, we also have s*&#@ in the forecast for tomorrow. At least it should be gone by Mother's Day, lol. Glad you had a nice visit. And that's a LOT of apple crisp and eggs. I mean, I deviled 6 eggs yesterday, not 60. I also have daffodils but my forsythia bush died...

Tammy, hope you and DD are both feeling better soon.

Jennifer, enjoy your ride today and glad the shower was nice. Did you see the link I posted for you yesterday? (pancakes...)

Debbie, we have a greenhouse at school and the ag teacher told me not to buy tomatoes and cucs this year because she has so many. I can't wait until it is warm enough to plant. I did order some seed mats this weekend.

Nicole and Pearlrose, I guess I am the resident glutton! I don't know if I've ever been below 1000 calories in a day! As I said already, using the tracker app can be quite informative.

Nicole, hope the shots aren't too bad today. I posted the muffin recipe for you yesterday.

Pearlrose, I'm sure waiting on DD was getting tiring; hopefully she will heal quickly.

Got to go; have a great day, chicks!

Pearl- I am glad you understand the struggle is real lol.

Beth - That recipe looks great thank you.

My shots are over. They were pretty rough. I came home and had crackers and feel horrible. However, I am chalking today up to a day off. I won't be able to eat much so can't feel guilty.

I weighed in today and gained a lb last week
