Default Tuesdsay SBD Chat, February 9

Good Morning!

Twas a long day yesterday but I'm always happy to move into Tuesday when I work early and leave early. I don't have any plans for "after work".

Bing visited his cardiologist yesterday and she is amazed at how well he is still doing....considering. He has some fluid around his heart so she upped his diuretic. Her appointments were running late so I patiently waited just happy to sit. When she was finished with all her business she took time to show me videos of her 2 yr old on skis. An appt. is $380 but worth it for my "little shadow". I suggested his extreme codependency is part of what keeps him ticking lol.

So I hope you all have a great day! I'm heading down for coffee and smoothie prep.

(PS after cardiologist I went up and sat down and talked w/tenants....and made them sign the official "letter." He has promised as soon as he finishes this job. my mom was not happy when I told her last night but getting him caught up is much easier on us than advertising/showing and finding a new tenant.)

Default Tuesday, February 9 and Brrrrrr!

Winter is coming back! The dogs went charging out the door and were back in really quickly to snuggle on the couch. This is just a taste of what's happening on the weekend when we go waaaay below normal. I'm sure glad I didn't put away the woolies.

Angus was here overnight and seems to be quite at home. He and my two wee furries (15 pounds each) have a ball together and nobody gets hurt although Angus is over 60 pounds. This was just a trial run to be sure there will be no problem when his family go off on their trip in two weeks. Lisa will be back to pick him up late morning and peace will reign in the house again.

I am still having trouble getting used to the laptop and it's taken me about 20 minutes to post this, Please tell me it'll get better!

It will get better Ruth. Glad Angus felt right at home last night. We too are dipping down this weekend. It will be a good test for my new boiler.

Debbie so glad Bing is doing well. They are worth every penny. Happy you have a resolution with the tenant.

Easy come easy go after one trip to the dentist with DS. Initial visit, cleaning x rays etc $284. He requires two follow up as he needs 4 or 6 fillings (I kind of zoned out from sticker shock) The woman tells me $840 will be due at his next appointment. Me that will cover everything? Oh no, his total is $1394 for the work! My flex spending account for the year won't cover it. I wasn't even annoyed at the cost, but DS. He has always been lazy with his teeth. The dentist gave him a lecture about dental hygiene and diet. It better sink in or the kid won't have teeth by the time he is 40. When I got home I called and texted my ex asking him to pay half. I haven't asked him for anything other then college and co pays years ago to a doctor who wasn't in network. He told me business is slow and to have DS make payments to the dentist. Technically my ex is supposed to pay half of my health insurance for DS and half of medical expenses until DS is 21. I'm not surprised by my ex and I don't feel like wasting my energy on this. Guess I know where I'll be spending some of my winnings

Sorry to have vented. I was feeling stressed and very tired yesterday. Main,y from eating too much junk the day before and yesterday too. Today I'll regroup and plan my food for the week. All the bad stuff is gone and without DS there is no excuse to bring anything bad back into the house.

One more cup then off to shovel

Drat! It's Pancake Day and my friend Christina begged me to go with her and her Dad. Her Mother can't go and her Dad needs two people to keep him focused. He has early AZ, alas! How the heck can I survive this eating challenge - pancakes, syrup, butter, baked beans, sausages and fruit pies! There ought to be a law!!!!

Good morning,

We have a bit of snow on the ground and it is very cold. Very happy to be wfh today as there have already been 12 accidents this morning on the roads.

Nothing on the agenda today other than work

Debbie so glad the appointment went well for Bing. I am with you easier to get someone caught up then having to get a new person.

Ruth you will get used to it, I have not upgraded DH to Windows 10 because he may lose his mind He is easily frustrated by technology, the other day he changed some setting on his phone and totally had it locked up, he finally was able to get back to the setting after a day of trying and phone is back to normal. Ruth hang in there maybe eat before you go?

Jekel I feel for you, it must be very frustrating. I am thinking my HSA is not going to last this year either, between my copay for PT and DD2 is getting braces next week and regular checkups not sure it is going to stretch. It is always a guessing game as to how much to put in.

Have a great day everyone!

Ruth, baked beans at a pancake breakfast??? lol

Pearlrose my orthodontist was great with DS. He let me write a check the end of November and post dated it until January. He held it in my son's file until his January appointment. At that time my new FSA was in. He handed me back my check and I handed him my card. It was great because I could allot for the braces and usual medical expenses that year. Come to think of it, I don't think the ex helped with that either lol.

Evening, chicks.

Workday: done. Exercise: done. Dinner: in the oven. Guess I'm good for today.

Ruth, not to scare you, but......I bought a laptop last summer and while I mostly love it, there are one or two features that still trip me up. For example, I have never had any problem connecting it to my printer but the other day I needed to scan a document to send to DS2 and ended up using DH's computer. Frustrating. Btw, how was breakfast?

Jennifer, WOW on the dental bill. I remember our orthodontist was also great; we got a discount for paying up front with cash and were able to time it for the new flex year as well. Is your DS still working the same job? No going back to school? DS1 will finally graduate this spring and we are already prepping him to be dumped from our cell plan and support himself.

Debbie, hope you got some down time after work.

Pearlrose, our morning temperature was nippy this morning; we are looking to get snow and extreme cold the next few days.

Okay, the timer is ringing so I need to check on dinner. Have a good evening, chicks.
