Default Thoughtful Thursday, February 4

.... and where is everybody? We seem to be shrinking in members.

Yesterday was another spring-like day. I could get used to this! Unfortunately the spring flooding of the dogyard has begun so we are dealing with wet paws since Lake Sheridan has appeared. Jazz avoids most of it but Millie splashed right through and comes in with her whole lower bodywet and shivering. First aid for that is a fresh towel and a cuddle on my lap until she recovers.

Somewhat annoyed with the Day-Away programme at the Clinic since I rushed to get there for one yesterday to find it had been cancelled because of the icy driving in the morning. They canceled the volunteer drivers but didn't let me know. Grrr! This is the third time this has happened.

Time for another coffee and then set up today's to-do list. I don't have a meeting until 3 this afternoon. A "jammy morning" might happen.

Happy Thursday!

Good morning,

Your right Ruth not many chicks seem to be checking in lately, I know everyone is always super busy but for me this my mental are you in the game to stay on track today.

Yesterday was very cold, today is getting a bit warmer and it's wfh so will enjoy.

I set up the inversion table but only got on to test it out last night.

Ruth that clinic needs to add you to the list to call, one time okay but 3 times is a bit much. I am sure Millie enjoys the towel treatment. I would stay in my jammies if I could (okay I could but I would feel weird working in my jammies)

Hope the rest of the chicks have a wonderful day as well!

Good Morning!

And sorry.....it's hard for me to get here early when I'm in Glenwood. Life is more "needy" here....and my "me" time has traditionally to say hello from my phone while sitting outside with the pups but rather difficult this morning as it is -6. Brrr!

I value all our friendships here and agree with Pearlrose that posting has always helped me remember daily that I have a food plan. Even though we seem to be getting smaller I'd really like to continue that.

So my sisters surgery is set for Feb. 18 (mastectomy). I think a good friend is going to come stay with here since we still have my mom to consider and her needs with winter and being 95. One day at a time we are meeting at the pool today. Also on my agenda, I bought a headboard at Pier One (the store here is closing) so I need to figure out how to get it home. I'm taking a tape measure with me.

Ruth, glad your meeting isn't until 3. Enjoy your jammy day.

Pearlrose, it will be interesting to hear how the inversion table is. I contemplated buying one don't have the space.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning chicks!

My morning was a flurry this morning, getting the 2 kids off to school, then meeting a friend for breakfast - which was awesome although I didn't eat much.

Ruth - that's *really* annoying and they need to set up some better line of communication.

Pearl - let us know how the inversion table goes!

Debbie - I don't know how you do it. I hope you're truly taking care of yourself.

For me - my 2 exciting doc visits are over. I thought I was up for two intensive surgeries, and I will get neither. Good and bad. The one (neck) was a shot of improvement, I am getting a second opinion. My second opinion (shoulder) said if I got that surgery, I'd probably end up in ER with such unbearable pain because of my neck issues. I am so glad I saw him, he was concerned about my overall well being instead of just getting another surgery on the books. I was *supposed* to get shoulder surgery Tuesday and rescheduled it (now canceled it) for the second opinion. Unfortunately this means I'm still going a little downhill, and I think most chicks posting regularly on here remember me being the one posting that I already went on my morning run, or went running in the mountains. I know I'll never do that again, but it would be nice to walk further than 1/4 mile a day.

I agree - we are dwindling down! I admit, I don't stick to plan at all (um, does 1/4 of a choco chip pancake count?), but my appetite is so whacked from this that I don't control it most of the time. I just come here out of habit, friendship, and in the hopes I will have to watch my diet again one day!! You gals are a great group (although I do miss me some Cottage) and I enjoy checking in every day (I do read every day, not necessarily post).

XOXO Y'all!!

Wow! Now it's a tad crowded! Yes, still in jammies but I have done stuff around the house - my plants told me they were dying of thirst.

Now I'll hie me to the shower and put on some meeting clothes. It's the Mill Executive only so no big audience - Cathy who doesn't care what she wears as long as there are cookies, Anna who supplies the cookies and Dann who is so completely wrapped up in himself that he wouldn't notice naked!

Hey chicks! I am just not good about making time in the morning to post most work days. But I usually make a quick peek from my desk.

Ruth, glad you had a few minutes of "me" time this morning.

Pearlrose, I agree. Just the thought of the chicks makes me more mindful.

Debbie, hugs to you.

Tammy, I'm glad your doctor visits went well.

DH made chili today so I am set for dinner. Isn't he great?
