Default Thankful & Thoughtful Thursday, January 29

I have lots of coffee so come and join me. Once again the moon is greeting me this morning - so lovely on the wee bit of snow we got last night - not enough to plow.

Spent most of yesterday sorting files and trying to getting a bit more organized for Michelle's cleaning day. It seems an endless task! What I really need is a dumpster! I think I am going to just stop answering the phone and emails until certain times in my day. I have one "friend" who marks all her emails urgent and wants a reply - she phones an hour after she's sent it to see if it's arrived.

I have an 11 a.m. appointment for a cleaning at the dentist - not a fun morning because the new hygienist is a talker which drives me nuts when she is using noisy machines inside my head. I think I'll have a word with her.

However I am thankful I can afford the dentist and thankful that I can afford Michelle! (If I get home from the dentist early enough, we will get a start on the storage room sorting - wish me luck! )

Have a nice day and hug somebody!

Huh - never thought about it Ruth - Canada has nationalized health care, but that doesn't include dental? Interesting. I would do the same as you if I had a cleaning lady - pre-clean! I've had a couple of friends that have volunteered to help, but I am way too embarrassed to have them do that! (my house is really not *that* bad, compared to some I've seen or similar, but not to my standards!)

Today I have some testing and...that's about it. I've been really tired this week, so I'll just rest some. DH is home again, so I do have some nice meat that I found at good prices (wow, meat is so expensive now!) - a roasting chicken at .89/lb, and pork tenderloin (his favorite!) at.... I think it was 2.99/lb! We'll see what tonight brings him .

Waiting for snow for the kids...

Hey chicks, just a quick good morning to you!

I am thankful today that my cold is progressing; it seems to be moving out of my head (no headache today!) and into my throat/chest. Might mean I have to talk less today which will make my students happy.

Other than that, I am thankful for my family. My DH who, even though he retired, gets up to make my coffee and warm up my car every morning. My DS 1 & 2 who are doing well at school and avoiding some of the traps their friends have fallen into. And we are moving through January wihout much harsh winter weather!

Ruth, for a quick dental appointment. A colleague who has been trying to declutter told me recently she has been repeating the saying, "I might need this someday, but someone else needs it now" and it has really motivated her to donate things.

Tammy, we had a neighbor raise a pig for us this summer for the first time. We got 135 pounds of meat (bacon, ham, roasts, pork chops, etc) for an average of about $2 a pound. We were really pleased with both the price and quality.

Got to run. I'm supposed to be working.....

Good morning!

I am just starting my 1st cup of coffee and working on processing this day.

I'm sitting outside with the pups need to head back in. It's cold!

I spent most of yesterday and medical appointments with my sister and it looks like she needs some surgery and the sooner the better. And we didn't get finished till late and grabbed Kirk and went out to dinner. She's going to meet me at the pool this morning and perhaps we will have more time to talk. In the meantime Kirk Kirby needs a bath as he is scratching again. The do-it-yourself dog wash is right here and opens at 7:30. I guess I'd better get in gear.

I am thankful for lots of things.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,

Today is my in office day and wouldn't you know I went right back to sleep after my alarm went off and didn't wake up for another hour and half. Luckily I still have 30 minutes before I needed to leave so just rushed to get ready and out the door.

The PT place didn't scheduled me yesterday for re- eval so they just did normal PT and I go back tomorrow for the re-eval, yesterday and today my lower back is better so it might be like they said just sore from doing the different exercises they gave me.

Today I have my eye exam so not looking forward to that as I think my prescription has changed again for the worst. I wonder how high prescription contact lenses go to? I have meetings in between and two interviews this afternoon to replace a contractor.

Ruth hope your dental cleaning goes well, I need to find a new one, I am do for cleaning next month.

Tywnn I think most everyone would clean prior if they had a cleaning lady

Beth you have a great husband

Debbie sorry to hear about your sister needing surgery

Have a great day everyone!

Good evening Chicks. I thought I stopped in this morning. Oops. Today was a half day for the kids but not for us. We did get a long break, long enough to have lunch with DH. I'd rather have the kids around, it's desk work without them.

Ruth - I love moonlight on snow. Makes me want to get up and go walk in the woods (I don't, but I like the idea).

Tammy - the price of meat helps me keep the plate 3/4 veggies

Beth - DH sounds a lot like mine, a great guy. I could handle winters like this every year.

Debbie - Sounds like another busy day. Hope you got a little time to relax, or catch your breath.

Rose - Hope things slowed down a little. I hate starting the day running.

Time for a glass of wine and relaxing before bed. On to Friday
