Default Hump Day Beach Chat, Jan 27

Good Morning!

The tenant showed up at my work and pitched $200 at my hostess. That gives him another week to get square. For me, that means I can enjoy my days off rather than going to court for an eviction notice. All my reliable sources are on alert that I'm looking for a new tenant....will work on keeping this one until a new one pops up. If he could get it together and make the months go smoothly I could be ok but I'm not going to be the rent cop month after month.

So....went to bed early last night so I could get up early and get paperwork/house decluttered/laundry done and head over the hill. My friend in Denver put Laurie on the bus last evening so she made it home last night and I didn't have to go back down. That has helped.

I've only had one cup of coffee in 2-1/2 hours. I think it's time for a new one. I must admit I'm not too excited to return to the land of snow but the pool is always nice and I miss DH and the pups...shhh....mostly the pups.

Have a great day everyone! I'll check back from the other side.

Sheesh, Debbie, that guy must be pretty rude but at least he paid and it was cash! I hope your trip back to pool country goes well.

I confess I goofed off yesterday and did very little. I seem to be having some sort of tummy issue and just did not feel well. I didn't even go down for the mail and found myself watching Judge Judy in the afternoon. (I never watch daytime TV!) There was a planning meeting for the Mill summer events but I opted out - I hate evening meetings.

I have to make some progress on the clutter of half-done sorting jobs today as Michelle comes to clean tomorrow when I'm at the dentist. She's great but can't make pitch or keep decisions when it's my stuff.

Time to crank up the day. We got a skiff of snow overnight but nothing serious.

Happy Hump Day!

Debbie - I think I'd be looking for a new tenant too, if there's a legal way to do it. Rude! Glad you get to enjoy your time off vs dealing with that kind of schtuff.

Ruth - Good for you for taking it easy, don't push it too hard today!

I'm supposed to go to bible study today, but I'm thinking I'm just staying home. DH has been gone a couple of days (and his birthday was yesterday!) for a conference and he gets home tonight. I'd joke that I have to make sure I'm dressed properly with the house clean and a lovely dinner, but that ain't happenin', LOL!!

The scale is creeping up, I'm sure my new meds don't help. I'm almost to my pre-op weight. I kinda liked being down about 5 lbs. I did buy cheese sticks last night, I have to work on more veggies. Will you guys inspire me?! (we won't talk about DH...he's at his highest weight ever - not that that's that heavy - but he needs to eat better too! At least I have good bloodwork - his is horrible!)

Have a good hump day!

Good morning chicks,

Debbie glad you will get some pool time and puppy time. You've had a stressful week. Hope your tenant gets squared away next week and politely too!

Ruth do you think you tummy woes are linked to your meds? Glad you are taking it somewhat easy. If I put on the TV in the afternoon that is code for nap lol

Tammy don't forget to fetch DH his favorite cocktail and a smoke when he gets home lol. I am great on my work days but find I get lazy when I'm home. The inky veggies I ate yesterday were mixed salad greens at the diner with DS then polished off his fries. I need to regroup today.

The hairstylist yesterday kept telling me how brave I was. I only gave her one condition, I need to be able to put my hair up for work. Since my curls stretch when wet I hope I can lol. I love my new cut, shortest my hair has been in 20 years! They were super nice, attentive, explained everything and taught me how to properly care for and dry my new do. Tomorrow I took off to go to a wine and paint party. Wish me luck as that will be my first attempt with my hair.

Well looks like DS is leaning in moving in with his friends. I'm trying not to stress, although carb binging for two days tells me I am lol, the lease is up in June so he may return home then. I'm trying to think positive, my house will stay clean, less money will be spent on utilities and groceries, and I wouldn't have to wait to use the washer and dryer on my days off. DS said he would still look after the dogs when I'm at work, but I highly doubt it lol as he is pretty lazy with them.

Oh well one more cup then I need to get my day started. I think I like taking a day off from work, then work a day and be off again lol.

Good morning,

We lost power at 8:30 p.m. last night and didn't get it back until 3 a.m. Luckily the house had time to warm up before I had to get up at 6 a.m. Affected several counties around here.

Today is PT and re eval to see next steps, back

pain has now moved from lower back side to lower back tail bone in the last week. Wonder if the planks they have me doing is causing.

Debbie that was very rude of your tenant, I hope you can find a new tenant and are able to legally get rid of this one

Ruth hope your stomach issues are feeling better today

Tywnn lol I can picture you with a dress, pearls and high heels on waiting for him to come home :P

Jekel you will have to post a pic of new hair do glad you like it.

Have a wonderful day everyone

You had to go with your hair dry in its "natural" state. Basically I had a lot of curl hidden underneath my semi straight top layer. All my chemically processed straight hair is gone. I will let it grow a little longer, but not too much. Luckily my grays blend in with the curls another bonus lol

I'm not a fan of selfies, so this was actually hard for me to do. It's funny my half sister and I both have one eye that just doesn't open as wide as the other. Ironically her's is her left, she's a lefty and mine is my right, I'm a righty. We both have the curls too, but mine is way thicker and pretty coarse.

I love it! Cute and sassy, just like you! (I can't say short and sassy, cuz you're not short!)

Maybe I need to go to that salon...I'd love to have a hair cut that takes advantage of my wave and doesn't drive me nuts! (might be much of a drive though...)

(You can still put that up?)

Thanks I managed to get it up in a high pony tail with my little curls makes it look like a bun. I blew my bangs straight to tuck behind my ear. They are too short to put up, but too long to leave in my face. What's nice is I have two weeks to go back for a touch up. Going to decide about bangs.

Tammy they are a chain Devachan...but NYC prices ouch! I used Christmas money and getting to goal weight for this splurge. However they recommended I on,y get my hair cut every 4 months so at least I have time to save lol

good evening Chicks. Not much going on here. We just finished some vegetarian hot and sour soup (thanks to Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything Fast) and now we are relaxing. I'm getting regular exercise in (though still not as much as I used to) and food is on track about 90% of the time. Unfortunately, I think that other 10% will keep me from my goal this month. It's all a work in progress.

Jennifer - I love the new do!

Debbie - I hope the tenant comes through and you don't have to deal with the legal stuff.

Ruth - everyone deserves a goof off day now and then

Tammy - Did you enjoy a relaxing day at home?

Rose - Hope things are moving in the right direction.

Okay, time to play with my coloring book and pour a glass of wine. here's to making it through Hump Day and moving toward the weekend.

Hey chicks. It's been a rough couple of days, powering through work with this cold. But I may have turned a corner today; it seems to be moving from my head to a cough. Maybe I'll be back to normal this weekend.

Jennifer, the hair looks great!
Cyndi, I'm of the mindset that as long as you are moving in the right direction it's all good.
Pearl, hope you got some positive news today; back pain (or any pain) can really beat you down.
Debbie, hope your travel went smoothly. Enjoy the pool, the pups, and DH!

Happy last hump day in January, chicks.
