Default Friday Snuck Up On Me! January 22

... and suddenly it's the weekend again!

I did manage a trip to town yesterday morning and picked up a few things with my gift certificate at Home Hardware but did not go further into town to the fabric or book stores. Somehow, I just wanted to be home for lunch, not resisting the pull of the Chinese Buffet. Not sure where the rest of the day went but Liz showed up with a bouquet of flowers for me at 5 - a belated birthday gift for her "Momma". A lovely splash of colour now that Christmas has left the premises.

We also looked at the huge Hibiscus tree I am plant sitting and both agreed it's in trouble. She is coming over late today to help me horse it into the downstairs shower so we can spray it down for starters. I'd hate to have it die when owner Terri is in Costa Rica. On the other hand, she is seeing lots of hibiscus (hibisci?) in CR.

It'll be a mostly at home Friday with no snow expected. For those of you in the huge snowstorm, be as safe as possible and give yourself a bit of a pamper when it's over. Seriously hoping schools are closed and that the electricity stays on!

Good morning Ruth and chick to come.....great job resisting the Chinese Buffett. So nice Liz brought you flowers. I love fresh cut flowers. Nancy and Jim have their hibiscus inside for the winter. I believe it is on their enclosed front porch. Not sure how it is doing.

Beth doubles are sporadic thank goodness. At the moment no overtime is authorized for command staff which is fine by me. Depending on the weather I may be told to stay Saturday night. At least they are predicting lower accumulation amounts.

Friday didn't sneak up on me. I thought it was yesterday lol. Today I do need to give Suzy the snowblower a warm up. Jim filled the gas cans yesterday and stocked up on salt. He is such a great neighbor.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning,

I am so happy it is Friday. WFH day though have 2 appts today PT at 9 a.m. and then DD2 has ortho appt at 2 p.m.

DD2 didn't make the team, 30 girls trying out for 12 spots tough competition, she took it pretty good though so still proud of her for trying out.

Ruth hope you are able to stay at home today

Jekel glad your double shifts are just sporadic, hope you don't get too much accumulation.

For east coast chicks getting snow, I will pray that electricity stays on for you and stay safe.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

We didn't get home until late last evening and I spent a majority of the day taking everyone to appointments. I told DH I was going to sleep in and stay home from the pool this morning. I was a good decision it is freezing cold and windy outside. He just left. I'm going to lose around a little bit and go up to the health food store and buy my groceries for tomorrow when I travel.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey ladies, no snow here. We actually had sun for most of the day. I was even able to look for those planets before dawn today. (Any other geeks read about the 5 planets visible for the next few weeks in the early morning?)

Buuuuuuutttttttt........ I am going to stay put tonight and skip my glass of wine. I think I am coming down with a cold. Can't really complain; first one of the season.

Happy Friday night! No snow heading here, just cool, sunny weather. I don't mind the break this year, but the kids really want a good snow storm.
It's DH's work weekend, so I'll be catching up on house stuff that was left undone with last weekend's travels. I'm also going to take some time for lunch with a friend I saw all the time in my old job. While I'm in town I'll hit the winter farmer's market. Hope I can find something yummy.

It's time for a glass of red around here. Enjoy your Friday night.
