Good morning, chicks. I'm waiting for the car to warm up and thought I would pop in and get us started. We are in positive territory on the thermometer today which is nice.

Another hump day at work but nothing unusual on the agenda; hope it stays that way! For us the official halfway mark of the year is next week; I can't believe how it is flying by.

Cyndi, hope DH's back improves. Glad you made it home safely. We really didn't get more than a few inches of snow since I live north of the worst lake effect zone.

Jennifer, stay warm at work today! And did they really need to call you so early with the missing stats??

Guess I should go get ready. It takes longer when you have to locate boots, mittens and a coat!

Happy Hump Day, chicks! The keurig is available if anyone needs a cup.

Default Wednesday Whinings & Whimperings

Bad start to Hump Day - I made K-coffee and knocked it off the counter when I reached for the milk. What a mess and it was my favourite bone china mug which really shattered! The air was pale blue for a minute which really scared the pups who fled the room without offering to help with clean-up. (They are great when milk spills.)

I did absolutely nothing of value yesterday - was still not dressed until 2:30. Finally pulled myself together and drove to the bank to pay a bill - already paid online! - and pick up some K-pods. I did finish binding one quilt though so the day wasn't a complete waste.

This morning I have foot care with Gillian, supposedly a nurse practitioner, who is a tad rough on my poor toes. With one knee replacement and another one coming, I really need my toenails done every six weeks so I've tolerated her but ... She seems to think I should soak my feet in baby oil and then go over them with a toothbrush to get rid of calluses. Sounds great but getting to the foot is the problem. ** Sigh ** I guess I need a lady's maid!

I'm back to the clinic in the PM for Pet Therapy with Jazz. There is a new client in the day away program who refuses to speak or even listen although she's not a deaf-mute. She texts which makes things weird. Jazz doesn't have a phone but she seems to like him on her lap. I know she can talk so am working on getting her to call him by voice. She texts him now! Weird!

Time to crank up the day which is another cold one. Stay safe and warm.

Good morning I'm running through this morning too. Got up early to get everything ready for DH - treadmill desk set-up, pellets in stove, etc. I don't want him to be tempted to do anything stupid (he will anyway, I'm sure!). He isn't out of bed yet but thinks his back is a little better but still painful. When he was much younger he broke it in 5 places and had some major surgery, so throwing his back out is pretty serious. Luckily Wed. and Thurs. are his regular days off, so he has some time to heal. I'm off to work today but am close enough to buzz in at lunch for a few. It's going to be a hectic day

I made Cuban black bean soup in the pressure cooker last night. I'm having fun trying recipes in it. Hope to make a little more time for other things.

Okay, that was my five minutes

Good morning,

Woke up to 4 inches of snow, unfortunately I need to go into work have more interviews to do, checked the roads and they do not seem so bad so in I go. I already went out and swept all the snow of the back porch and did a path to the cars and did both cars.

DD2 school is closed for the day. DH has jury duty today but DD1 is home, she passed her EMT board yesterday so all she has left to pass is her State Boards for RN and she is set for awhile.

Beth I hope school goes by quickly

Ruth sometimes even getting a pedicure they are sometimes to rough with your feet. Sorry to hear about your favorite mug.

Guess my car should be warm by now so need to get on the road.

Have a great day everyone!

Beth - I gave my car some time to warm up too - had to bring the girls to choir this AM. Took the advice from the other girl's mom...and drove them in my PJ's! Why get dressed yet?!

Ruth - sorry about your mug . I broke DH's favorite a while ago, I keep trying to find a replacement. Good for you for not getting out of your PJ's til 2:30!

Cyndi - Hope DH gets better fast, although I know those can take a while. Make sure you take care of yourself too!

Pearl - I think your snow is headed our way. We were initially predicted to get 1 1/2 feet, DH was SO excited (seriously!). Now it's down to 3-6", he is quite disappointed. Who knows what will happen between now and then!

I did just run the girls over to choir practice, and I guess I should get dressed for bible study today (LOL). That's probably be enough for today. Oh! I am making Kalyn's red beans and rice for dinner though! Mmmmm, perfect for this cold weather.

sTammy just wait until they are teenagers. I used to pick up DS in my jammies a lot! Didn't even care if his friends were with him. I need to look at our snow prediction. I just hope I don't get stuck at work....although I will pack an overnight bag and leave it in the car. I'll pay for a hotel if necessary if it is really bad.

Ruth my friend's daughter is selectively mute and has been for over a decade!!! She only speaks at home and only with her family. Doctors say it is a form of anxiety. I don't know how she has friends or interacts in the classroom. IMHO giving her a cell phone is only making it worse, now she texts. She is 14!

Beth I can't believe the school year is almost half over. Time certainly moves quickly.

Pearlrose congratulations to DD! Hope the rides were ok when you went in.

We were busy last night thanks to a service disruption. I had to close parts of Penn due to over crowding. Commuters were not happy to say the least. I wish TOM woukd hurry up and get here. My scale is not showing me efforts!!! But i know I am OP. I can get into my "skinny" uniform pants again. Another 5 pounds or so I might be able to bend without fear of ripping them lol.

Side note....Tammy I made the MC from memory this week. I had it for dinner and thought it didn't taste the same. Lol forgot the beans! Also used ground turkey breast. Still tasted yummy. DS added chipotle Tabasco to his.

Enjoy your day!

Jennifer - HOW CAN YOU FORGET THE BEANS??!? LOL. That's the one thing I always have to make sure I have on hand....I love using pinto beans too. I do it by memory as well, but I don't really measure things anyways .

I understand on that TOM thing...good grief...

I usually add black beans and kidney beans, plus I sneak in yellow and green zucchini. Sometimes green beans too. Mine is more veggies than chicken. Makes more leftovers too mmmm.....I think I have a foggy brain this month lol
