Good morning, chicks.

Who's ready for the day?

Somehow I am ready with 10 minutes to spare today. I think it has to do with waking up at 5 and going to the bathroom. Then my mind started whirring and that last half hour of sleep was lost.

Oh well, it is Friday and a long weekend here, with MLK Day on Monday. I intend to finish getting my decorations into the attic, do a little baking, maybe roast a turkey breast. And a little shopping since the winter clearance sales are starting up.

But first, an unusual day at work; the kids only have a half day and then the teachers have afternoon professional development. That can be good or bad depending......

I've got my thermos full so anyone that needs a cup will have to use the Keurig. I finally broke down and got one for Christmas.

Good morning Beth and sleepy Beachers

Not ready for the work day, but it's coming anyway. We have testing this morning, so the kids will be wound this afternoon. Good thing it's a three day weekend. Date night for us, then heading to central NY tomorrow. Looks like the roads will be alright and we should get to see everyone.

Okay, one more cup then I need to get moving. Can I pour one for anyone while I'm up?

Thanks, Cyndi and Beth. I'll enjoy mine in my cozy house while you two trudge off to educate the youth of America.

Had a great birthday yesterday, Michelle got all the Christmas stuff upstairs while I was lunching with Doug and Claire. I had mussels done with sundried tomatoes and it was absolutely delicious. I was home by 4 (long lunch) and decided not to go to Ben's presentation. I really should not drive at night and did not know anyone who could offer me a ride.

This morning I get a new dryer! My old one doesn't owe me anything. I bought it in a used furniture store in 1985. It looked completely new and the guy said it had belonged to his wife but took way too long to dry clothes. I quietly checked it out and the lint catcher was solidly plugged - looked like felt! Bought it for 50 bucks, cleaned out the lint and it worked until this fall when it decided to keep running when I opened the door. I hope the new one lasts as long!

So this morning, I'll do some tidying in the laundry area which is a wide closet in my kitchen. If the excitement is over by noon, I may finally drive to town to get some binding fabric for the second last quilt I have to do this month.

TGIF, Chickies. Wishing you "southerners" a happy MLK long weekend.

Cyndi and Beth enjoy your long weekends! Beth how do you like your Keurig? I adore mine!!! Thanks to the Captain I replaced I have one at work too. Even with the costs of the pods, I'm still saving especially with the prices they charge for coffee in the city.

Cyndi what to you have planned for date night?

Ruth that was one dependable dryer!!! When we bought the house in 1999 there was a dryer with the same issue. I only replaced it in 2009 because the washer died again. The bottom of the dryer was almost completely eroded. My new one dries clothes much faster and I saw a reduction in my electric bill.

Same old story here. Yesterday I napped until I needed to get ready for work. I think my body needed rest as I feel much more like myself today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning,

Another wfh day for me and just a couple of meetings on my agenda. DD2 only has half a day of school as well. It was in the 60s yesterday and today the temp is supposed to drop all day long and continuing dropping.

Beth hope your half day teacher institute day goes well for you

Cyndi enjoy your date night

Ruth love when appliances last a long time.

Jekel the coffee drinkers at work brought in one of their old keurigs to use at work as well. I think our office is down to just a few coffee drinkers, but the idea clicked that I can buy some tea cups for use when I am in office

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!
