It's my early day at work so I'm up drinking coffee. I have a bit of a scratchy throat this morning. I am hoping my days off will give me time to take care of myself and not get sick. Nothing new or interesting to report, other than that. It was supposed to travel over the hill after work today but I think I'll wait and see how I feel.
Good for you Debbie - maybe you'll just hunker down after work with a blankie and a good book and let your body rest?
I can hear my beautiful wind chimes this morning . Well, until DS started emptying the dishwasher, but that's not a bad thing, right?
Today I'm making Mexican crock pot for dinner (I always think of you, Jennifer!), and a friend is coming over for coffee this morning. She's my crazy cat friend lady, she's so crazy she even did a 50 mile run a few years ago, and she's 60 years old!! (I'm not THAT crazy!). I'm looking forward to seeing her .
Other than that, a few niggles, including maybe distributing the apple pie moonshine!
Good morning, Debbie, and Chicks to follow. The coffee tastes good this morning and the Keurig cooperated reasonably well.
Our Upper Lake is finally starting to freeze but the Lower is still open in the middle. This time last year they were whizzing across on snowmobiles so it sure is different. Last Saturday, there were boats out there! The weekend of the 23rd is "Skate The Lake" and I think they may have to collect ice cubes.
Made a big decision yesterday and just have to write the letter today. I have decided to not stand for re-election as Treasurer of the Mill. It's just too darned much work and, as long as I keep doing it, nobody else will step up to the plate. Since I've told several friends of my decision, I need to make it official today so ... I know I'll still be involved in our events but just do not want to spend the time on accounting. After today, I'll start listing the duties and procedures which were non-existent when I took over the job in 2010!
Two friends, Heather and Steve, came over late yesterday afternoon and fixed my TV and satellite. We are still trying to figure out the DVD. (I am a bit of a new junkie and was missing my 6 PM fix every night and even missed Downton Abbey!) We had a glass of wine and Millie and Jazz were in their glory with two of their favourite people doing dog loving. I am so glad my two love people and company.
Time to write that letter and get on with the day. I am going to go to look at a stackable washer/dryer unit today and figure out how to fit it into the current laundry space in the kitchen. Change is exciting!
Hope your Tuesday is terrific.
Hi there, Tammy. Sounds like you have a pleasant day ahead with your friend. Enjoy!
Going into work this morning, just on the computer to get my morning report report ready before I go.
It is super windy outside not looking forward to driving in that and it is supposed to snow but it should only be during work hours and by noon Sun might be out?
Nothing on the agenda tonight. Staying op food wise scale is up but I am sure it is hormonal related versus anything I have eaten.
Debbie I am starting to sneeze as well, just want to stay cuddled under a blankie but alias we have to do what we have to do. Take care of yourself
Tywnn DD2 decided she wants to chores each evening so she can earn an allowance, I said okay so last night, she washed dinner dishes, swept and mopped the kitchen floor. We will see how long she keeps this up but I want to encourage her and it helps me keep the house clean win win. Enjoy your coffee with your friend.
Ruth you snuck in on me, good for you. I am glad you are trying to free up some of your time, one of the hardest things I had to learn to do was to say "No" when people asked me to do volunteer for things, but I learned it because "Yes" was taking over my life about 8 years ago.
Ruth I am so happy you decided you step down. You go above and beyond for your friends, family and community. I think you will enjoy having time to just enjoy your life more.
Pearlrose I have plenty of chores for your DD lol Hope she sticks to it. Yes it is a win win for you.
Tammy I think of you every time I make The Mexican casserole too lol. You are thought of a lot as it is a regular meal here. DS loves it too, granted he eats it like dip with tortilla chips. Have fun with your friend she sounds really awesome!
Debbie hope you are feeling a little better. Try and take some down time later. Sip some tea, read and nap! it helps.
Back to the grind today. Joe sent me home with yummy leftovers. He made a Mexican casserole lol. DS will devour it tonight with Spanish rice while I'm at work. Pearlrose I am up too even with being 95% OP. It must be hormones! Waaaah oh wait I don't start crying for a few more days lol.
Shhh I didn't clean this weekend as the house still looked pretty good. Hopefully I'll have time to vacuum the kitchen, dining room and laundry room befor going to work. I noticed doggie tumbleweeds starting to form. Maybe if I have time I will call one last boiler guy to schedule an estimate. The mild weather has really made me procrastinate this project.
Good afternoon Yup, just had a cup of coffee. What can I say I've been exhausted lately. I blame the lack of daylight.
Debbie - How are you doing? Hope you were able to take it a little easier and get some rest (and maybe some ginger tea).
Tammy - Yummy, Mexican crockpot sounds like something I need to make.
Ruth - congratulations! Now the trick is to resist filling that "extra time" with another project.
Rose - hope the roads stayed easy. My weight can go up or down 4-5 lbs overnight. I''m not sure what that's about, but I've learned tp just watch the trends.
Jennifer - It's amazing how quickly those tumbleweeds form and roam.
DH decided to call out of work tonight. We broke down and bought a small plow for his Jeep and he wants to get it set before any potential snow. He also just needed a break after a very stressful few days. There's no dinner plan, so it's every human for themselves and extras for the dog
I'm going to try exercise, maybe that will wake me up a little.
Good evening, chicks. We are blustery tonight; winter storm warning for 4-6 inches.
Ruth, did you get your letter written? Debbie, hope you were able to relax today and feel better soon. Tammy, I feel a bit whiny when you and Jennifer mention Mexican Casserole. My DH doesn't care for it! I must remember to make it next time the boys are home. Hope you had a nice visit with you friend. Pearl, did the sun come out? We had a snow squall mid-day; the kids started thinking we would have a snow day until I reminded them we were already at school and it was way too early to affect tomorrow. Jennifer, is it tomorrow you have the double schedule again? I think I'm too old for those kind of hours. Cyndi, I find I'm okay in the afternoon until I sit down. Once I do I could easily doze off! I try to come home and exercise before dinner.
I can hear the wind picking up. I will probably have to get up and peer into the dark several times tonight hoping for a snow day!!
