Huzzah there, fellow calorie counters and passing strangers.
This is the SECOND little personal bloggety blog Sage2 has started this year. The previous one wasn't fun for me and above all, calorie counting should be fun, in my opinion, anyway.
I've decided to focus on a format of just posting cals in various personal challenges, pretty much as I did in the latter part of 2015.
I'll post my weekly weigh-ins but not the daily ones (total believer in daily weighing, with one OFFICIAL weekly). I won't post exercise as for me, it's basically the consumption of food calories that matter in my weight management journey.
Now it's Monday night and I'm editing the rules of the challenge to this: THERE AREN'T ANY RULES; I'm JUST GOING TO BRING THE CAL ELEVATOR DOWN AS BEST I CAN!
Today was a wash again (1980 cals, not bad but not where I want to be right now). The calorie challenge starts Tuesday and I'll do the best I can with it.
New challenge format is at bottom of thread.
If it sounds like I'm stressed, I'm not lol. I had a good day.
And editing this morning, noting that my cals ended up at 2290 (all of it grapes and a protein shake) and I feel wonderful and am so glad I ate to satiety the past few days; lost a bit on the scale this morning and am ready to rock and roll with my day. Another note is that my caloric day runs from midnight to midnight and that anything eaten after midnight goes on the next day's tracking, so am officially on Tuesday now ... It's going to be a great day. Challenge starts on next post.
Veering away from straight calorie counting to Weight Watchers' SmartPoints for a while as am in need of a change in how my journey is implemented.
I'm keeping this little "blog" here in the calorie section because SmartPoints does involve calories in its formula; the calories are just weighted as to how WW believes they affect the body.
I've been on the program for only part of one day, so can't say how it'll work for me long term, but I really like it so far, mainly because I want to reduce (not eliminate) sugar in my diet as an aid in lowering blood pressure and balancing my eating better. This plan suits me to a T at the moment.
So, if no one minds, I'd like to stay here and log my weight once a week (maybe more) and blog my experiences now and then. There isn't much to say as posting points and calories daily seems kind of, well, pointless as I'm tracking it elsewhere.
For me, it's just another way of looking at calories, at the moment.
