Brrrrrrrrr!!!! It finally feels like winter this morning! I'm going to need to put on gloves before I grip that icy cold steering wheel!

We're back to a normal routine today, and I'm sure Audrey will have brought back a mountain of laundry for me to tackle when she got home last night. Her high school marching band took all the awards and won $10,000 at the Gatorbowl this past weekend!

OK, time for one more hot cup of coffee before I face the elements! Have a good day, Ladies!

Good Morning, Linda, and thanks for getting us started! Wow! 10K! That's impressive! Enjoy your day even though it probably includes laundry mountain!

Pearlrose, glad you made it home safe and sound and that your family enjoyed the trip! I waved at you all in that traffic every morning! Of course, now that you've gone it's warming up a bit! LOL

I'm getting ready for work. I have my lunch packed and smoothie is almost consumed. I've decided to bring my lunch for awhile to keep me from the scads of temptations! I have a paperwork thingie I've been resisting. I'm going to try and accomplish it before I leave!

Have a great Monday everyone!

WOW, that is awesome for Audrey and the band, Linda!! You're right, it's a bit bitter out there today. Winter has finally hit. We've been lucky so far. I'm still a little scared because the Farmer's Almanac said it would be a bad winter, and they're always right!!

Debbie - probably a good idea bringing your own meal. What kind of goodies to they serve there - what's your favorite?!

Insomnia is setting back in, maybe I should've called Ruth when I couldn't sleep last night?!

Last night we had a lovely dinner with friends. Nothing fancy, but all delicious, and great conversation! I need to do that more often .

Today I was supposed to have breakfast with a friend, but she had to cancel for family duties (on her birthday much less!). But I have a shoulder MRI, and I'm a *wee* bit nervous on the results. I need more issues like a I need another hole in my head! (did anyone's mama used to say that?!).

Then to figure out what's for dinner on this brrrrrrrr kitty day. Maybe a good bowl of chili!?!?

Have a good Monday! One more kid to get out the door!

Good morning, Linda, Debbie and folks to follow. Passing you all a mug of hot coffee! Yes, we finally have winter! It's -2ºF here right now. The good news is that the pups go out for potty and come right back in without having to bark to fend off what they think is an army of cats and squirrels.

Yesterday ended up a pajama day although I did do laundry, start the soup and return some phone calls. I actually felt quite elegant in my black and red jammies with red slippers and earrings! Liz and Moel came down for a drink late in the afternoon and were quite surprised. We sipped some bubbly (without cheese and crackers) and discussed Village matters.

I am off to Quilting Biddies this morning where there will be the usual boasting and bragging about how wonderful the grandchildren are and who got what for gifts! Some of these biddies are very strange - almost like kids on the first day back at school after Christmas. On the other hand, some of us are ready to get on with making and finishing quilts. I have seven completed to lug in to the meeting, ready for delivery by somebody else. I do not drive lonely and snowy country roads in winter.

Today - if there's time left this afternoon, I'll get back to that blouse shortening job. I realized yesterday how out of practice I am on regular sewing - too much quilting has been happening. I must haul out some fabric and make something from scratch - even a warm winter robe would be nice - and yes, I do have the fabric.

Enjoy your first "regular" day of 2016!

Twynn Tammy, sorry your plans with your friend didn't work out. And on her birthday, no less! Glad dinner with friends was good. I must do that more often with just a couple of friends. Dinner for 12 does not leave me much chatting and catching up time.

Good morning, chicks. Gym day for me. With all my various injuries/issues, the only workout I get anymore is my twice a week with my mom and trainer and now my physical therapy exercises. Speaking of which, I am going to cancel my appointment today and consider myself "graduated" after a month of working with the PT twice a week. I feel almost back to normal!!

Errands to run after the gym including a grocery run. Not sure if I'll be heading out to spell DH at MIL's for a bit. Need to get to the store to try on some new "running" shoes too, one of these days. I have always chosen by fit not color but really could use a black pair for work so I don't look quite so unstylish when I wear leggings with sneakers

Have a great day.

Good morning.

Tammy sorry your friend had to cancel and for the insomnia. I could let you borrow my couch. It seems to have magic powers. An evening nap turned into straight to bed and slept the night. Never heard my phone, woke to a missed call from DS. A little panic since he didn't leave a message or text. Fortunately he was sleeping in his own bed when I got up. I hope everything goes well with the MRI.

Karen glad PT went well and you are feeling better.

Ruth I love jammie days!!! Yours sound so elegant. Hope the biddies quilt today and not spend the day boasting and bragging. Good luck!

Linda great news for Audrey and the band. Too bad about the laundry lol.

Debbie good with the paperwork. I bring my food to work too, it helps!

Nothing exciting here, just welcoming winter too lol. Still sipping coffee, while talking to work. I guess I am never off duty, even in my jammies. Planning on dinner with Joe and not much more. Hope everyone has a great day! Wear your mittens!

Afternoon all!

Sorry I went MIA yesterday after just posting but after moving at the end of October, we finally bought a dining room table on Sunday! You know, now that we have a dining room

I realized my fitbit scale hasn't been tracking my weight since we moved so DW has to fix that (wifi or some other nonsense). Took the batteries out, put them back in and my weight is mighty low - as in during 2 days my 5 pounds gain is gone. I like it and hope it says the same when it's fixed when I get home.

Gosh it was hard going to work this morning. Nice to see everyone and catch up but lots of needs. Hence why I am not posting until just now! I am no longer driving but taking public transportation and brrr was it cold this morning.

Cottage - I need gloves something awful! Like yours?
Debbie - good luck with the paperwork (me too!)!
Tammy - good luck with the MRI and let us know
Karen - pass me some of that gym motivation???? Please???
Jekel - have a great (warm) day
Ruth-
Pearl - have a good day!

I am off to finish the last 4 hours of my work day. Brought lunch and sticking to plan.

Too cold here too, and getting colder. Looks like it warms up again midweek though. The cold caused dinner changes. I was going to make something with collards from the garden. Unfortunately, the plastic cover DH made is frozen tight with snow turned to ice. I can't get in there to cut anything! Good thing I have a bookmark folder full of recipes to try during our cleanout month. I'm trying pea soup in the pressure cooker. It will be great if it works, it's so easy.

Cottage - How exciting for Audrey!

Debbie - I've become a regular lunch bringer too. School lunches aren't as tempting as the restaurant food, but still just too easy on a cold day.

Tammy - Hope the shoulder MRI yields easily correctable results.

Ruth - Happy sewing

Karen - Hooray for PT

Jennifer - Mittens and then some! Hope you enjoyed a relaxing day

Rose - How was PT?

Jenn - you are an inspiration!

Okay, time to get dinner rolling and maybe a chore or two. Stay warm wherever you are

Just chiming in with an evening "brrr, it is cold today" I made tacobake for dinner; it was satisfying and I enjoyed having the oven on!

Not much to report here; just the shock of the first day back to work. It seems like many of the students were in a state of shock also. I suspect many of them spent vacation staying up late and sleeping in.

Keep warm tonight, chicks.
