Wednesday SBD Chat, Dec 30

  • Good Morning!

    Coffee is on!

I went to bed early last night. We had 2 incredibly busy days at the restaurant and I could feel it. 3 days of rest and I'll be at it again. It's amazing. I drove up through town to p/u the pups and there were tourists everywhere....

Today I'm going to enjoy some peace and quiet. DH went to Glenwood yesterday. Mom has an eye appointment today but fortunately we did all our errands when I took her down yesterday. I think I can be home by noon.

Until then I'm going to sip on coffee and do whatever I feel like!

    Have a great Wednesday everyone!
  • Debbie, enjoy your "me" day. I'm just coming back to reality after two days of doing very, very little. It was great. Of course, being snowed in yesterday helped.

Today is my daughter's 50th birthday and I really can't believe it! I feel like I'm only 50 on good days and am lucky to have lots of those. I'll call her later on and hope the timing is right. She's a nurse and works shifts.

Just turned on the Bling Tree to brighten this dark early morning. I definitely need to get it set up earlier next Christmas - 3 PM on the Eve is very late and I find having it around very soothing. Tradition has it that I take it down on January 6th so I need to enjoy it as much as I can this year.

Not sure what today will bring but I will get it in gear and do some tidying and laundry as Michelle comes to clean tomorrow. For the first time ever, my desk is completely clear of papers and she'll be delighted to be able to clean the glass top. My side porch and steps are still deep in snow and ice so that will be a project as soon as it gets light out there.

Time for another coffee and some quality dog cuddling by the tree. Enjoy this day as the year winds down.

  • Good morning, Debbie, Ruth and chicks to come!

Ruth, I am also enjoying sitting by the tree with my coffee. I won't take it down until after the 6th (actually it will probably be the weekend after) but this morning I found myself wondering if I could get the boys to take the wrapping bin and some extra lights back to the attic before they leave this weekend. I need the space in the garage. But your tree looks great!

Debbie, funny how work exhausts us but a few days off lets us go back at it again. How you get a chance to recharge today.

I've got a few errands to run today; we had all combinations of sleet, freezing rain and snow yesterday so I didn't go anywhere. Can't believe it's Wednesday already.

I'm off to get more coffee; anyone else need some?
  • I'll take more coffee!

Beth, be careful out in all that weather!

Ruth, beautiful tree! Mine is shining brightly, too, this morning!
  • Good morning, chicks.

Didn't mean to go MIA for so long, but sometimes life gets in the way. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We had both boys home for a few days of overlap. DS2 is still here until Friday. DH got a few days off of duty at his mom's but is back again. I'm taking DS out with me today to spend time there. I ate non-stop for our 3-day holiday weekend and am now back on track. Due to poor planning, I get my cholesterol checked in a couple of weeks and am rather afraid that December excess will skew my results. Sigh.

Off for an early trip to make some holiday returns and to the grocery store.
