Default Thankful Thursday Beach Chat for 12/17

Good morning! I promise not to make coffee and run off right away this morning.

It's been busy here with getting ready for Christmas and the kids packing and getting ready to move out this weekend, but we seem to be on top of it. I've learned that as long as I don't spend too much time on the computer, that I can actually get things done, LOL!

Good morning, dear Linda and Chicks to follow.

Yes, Linda, the computer just sucks away time. It's too easy to just pop in and check things. It's not as bad as a cell phone though but that may be because I am still learning how to use mine.

Just went out to the car for something and it's raining here but mild. I'm still glad I found my winter things yesterday so no need to panic if (and when) we get winter. In the meantime, it feels like I should be in a panic about Easter, not Christmas!

Michelle comes before noon today so I need to scurry around and get the studio/sewing/junk room ready for her to deep clean. The gifts and wrapping stuff are already on the diningroom table but there is still a lot of fabric and mending to sort and move. I may just stick it all into a bin and stash it away for a surprise a year from now. I have enough fabric to make 100+ quilts and have five started, maybe never to be finished. I'm hoping for more time in my next life!

Spent the whole afternoon with my financial gal going over my stuff! I've made some changes and moved things around and told her I was making no more decisions until next year. At the moment my brain hurts from being stuffed with "to do" mental lists.

When Michelle is here today, I plan to hole up in the kitchen and cook and freeze for entertaining Christmas Eve. And tomorrow is a totally free day. I may make it a pajama day! Yeah, right! Like that ever happens.

Have a thoughtful and thankful Thursday.

Good morning!

Thanks for getting us started, Linda!

I'm up sipping on my first coffee and I'm going to take the dogs outside. It's cold, of course. My friend from Glenwood who has been living in Denver came up to visit last night. I need to drive her 15 miles to the bus at six then come back up for a while and take my mom down to a dental appointment at nine. It looks like a lots of driving day. I scheduled a massage for 130 this afternoon and we may try to travel over to Glenwood later. We shall see how the day, and The traffic unfolds.

It's hard to believe another week is slipping away. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Yes, that darned computer does get in the way, doesn't it?!

I think I need to get over to TJMaxx to return something and get little items. I still am at a loss for my kids...might stop at Best Buy for them, then time to head home! I do have my boobie-smoosh-o-gram today, I don't really want to do it with everything else going on, but with three dear friends diagnosed in the last 6 months, I *guess* I should.

And I should plan a nice but simple dinner for DH tomorrow night when he gets home. He's had a heck of a week...

Ruth, we're having a rainy day here today, too. On Saturday it's supposed to be 39*, the coldest it's been so far this season.

Debbie, I sure envy you your massage today! That would sure make a nice present for myself!

Tammy, yes indeedy, it's extrememely important to get that booby-smoosh-o-gram! I hope you find some good ideas for your kids in Best Buy!

It looks like it's going to be wet, gray, and gloomy out today. Maybe I'll do some baking at the farm to brighten the day. I have a hairdresser appointment after work, then I'll be ready for the weekend.

Good morning, agreed the computer does steal precious time from us. It is so easy to get sucked in!

Ruth my mom woukd envy your fabric supply! I am dreading making an appointment to go over my finances for the afterlife lol

Tammy glad you are getting "the girls" checked. I have a reprieve until June Whoo hoo. It does get harder to find things for the kids as they get older. Do either of them have a hobby they like? My coworker Melissa bought a sewing machine for her DD and DSD to share. She is hoping her DSD can teach her DD to sew. They've both shown an interest in it. She bought simple patterns and some material too.

Linda sounds hectic at your home with the move. Enjoy your baking time.

Debbie enjoy your massage today. After driving all those miles it will be a nice treat.

Yesterday I went to brave the outlet mall. It was actually really pleasant. It is so large I was not overwhelmed by crowds. I logged almost 5 miles of walking while I was there. Had a healthy salad and even braved Target afterwards! I only need to get one more gift for Nancy and Jim and I am done, done done! All wrapped and labeled too. I am thrilled and thankful I opened a savings account just for gifts. I went over my budget, shocker lol, but nothing went on my credit card!!! Yippee!!!

I was in bed at 9 last night. Apparently shopping makes me sleepy. Have a great day.

Good morning

Linda. Hope you get some baking time in. I know you like to bake.

Ruth. Want some more for your stash. Lol

Debbie. Enjoy your massage.

Tammy. As Jen said. The older they get the harder it is to shop for them. It will be nice to have dh back home.

Jennifer what a nice feeling not to have to see credit debt in the new year.

I have been quite busy but did read. Made my meal plan till new year's day and hopefully won't have to go to big grocery stores till after the new year. A friend requested a maple pie for a luncheon but that's o.k. too sweet for me. Every year dh and I go out to a Christmas supper (don't dine out much). Its tonight and going cajun.
have a great day everyone
take care
Sophie

Good morning,

Lots of things happening here. DD1 had her appeal meeting yesterday, now we just wait to see what the decision is they have up to 10 days to let her know. Please send positive thoughts that it goes her way.

Doctor called and is putting in a PT consult for me so I probably won't start until after the New Year since it takes 5 to 10 days and we are gone the week of New Years.

My BFF called and her DS has pneumonia so we are on hold on whether or not they will be able to meet us in Glenwood. I decided to make another reservation in Denver for the entire week if they can not make it to Glenwood, we will play it by ear. That way my kids can still ski but we can also do some exploring around the Denver area. I am good either way since I will not be skiing and my family are all in agreement for a change.

Today we are having a Holiday luncheon but I brought a veggie tray and I know we are bringing some healthy food so I will try to stick to that. So far the scale is cooperating and no weight gain.

Cottage enjoy your day, if your like me it's bittersweet watching your kids move out.

Ruth I think you should do a pajama day

Debbie enjoy your massage, I really need to schedule another one they really help to relax your muscles

Tywnn, DD1 and DS their Christmas present is the all expense paid trip DD2 is getting a few miscellaneous things that she wanted and her brother and sis are getting a xbox for her that she wanted (older version) and I am getting accessories and few games.

Jekel as soon as I take my meds at night I am out like a light half hour later lol. Glad that crowds were not too busy.

Sophie that is awesome that you are planned out that far in advance. I still need to go and get groceries for Christmas. I do have all the cookie and fudge supplies to make for all of the neighbors this weekend. Thank goodness DD2 loves to help

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!
