Unfortunately yes as loose skin is normal with a huge amount of weight loss.. I'm also 20, I've lost 105 lb so far and I already have a little bit of loose tummy skin but then again I don't workout much..working out and toning definitely helps big time but yeah it's still pretty normal to have a little bit of loose skin even then.

Nice to meet you.. are you a Gemini? cuz I am too haha

So basically it doesn't matter how gradually I lost the weight I still will have alot of loose skin? I was also wondering does having stretch marks the same as loose skin or is it different?

Everyone is different so you may not have a lot of loose skin, it just depends on the person (goal weight also etc) so can't say for sure.. of course losing it slowly and working out makes a big difference.

Stretch marks are a result of your skin stretching right so it's diff but these things are quite common.. just use some good cocoa butter lotion or bio oil for stretch marks and enjoy your weight loss journey, focus on the overall positives

There are so many factors that come into play with skin - elasticity, age. You're young so you have that on your side but if you're concerned maybe your GP can advise on how to go about it in a way where you wont see too much loose skin? Slow and steady seems like the best bet. Good luck on your journey and congrats for getting started

If you lose a lot of weight at once, you'll have loose skin, sure. But if you exercise and lose a pound a week or so you should be OK! I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much.

Not necessarily. How fast are you planning to lose? 1-2 lbs a week or even 3-4 lbs a week may not have that detrimental of an effect on your skin.

My mother dropped 80+ lbs in 6 months (from surgery) and didn't have loose skin. I've dropped almost 60 in less than 5 months with no loose skin and less cellulite. You shouldn't let your fear of lose skin prevent you from embarking on a weight lose journey if that is your desire.

And worst come to worst, there are treatments and procedures available to take care of that once your reach maintenance.

You have an advantage of being young. The best things you can do while losing weight is staying hydrated, using lotion, and weight training, weight training, WEIGHT TRAINING.

I'm 5'9 and lost 110 pounds about 7 years ago (at your age, actually). Yes, I have loose skin (and stretch marks, and cellulite), particularly around my lower abdomen, but I wouldn't trade it in a million years to go back to my old weight. You can easily hide it in clothing!

Good luck!
