Coffee is on! I'm going to enjoy a steamy cup then snuggle back in bed for awhile. I stuck the heating pad in so it will be nice and warm when I return. My back is better today....work wasn't too bad yesterday which helped. It looks like tonight is our killing frost. I still have a few things to go in the ground but I can do that Thursday. Tomorrow I'm down to Denver with my mom for her monthly eye appt.
Debbie, I'm enjoying my steamy cup right now. I'm glad your back is better. Mine was giving me grief yesterday, along with an upset tummy and headache, but I'm better this morning. Don't know what all that was about, LOL! What do you plant in the ground after the killing frost?
My goodness, yesterday was really busy, despite my being under the weather. Today is looking pretty full, too, but it will end with a "fashion show party" at my SIL Gina's this evening, so that should be fun!
Good Tuesday morning, Debbie, and folks to follow. We are below freezing but going up to 53ºF this afternoon. I sure hope my leaf-raking guy comes today because tomorrow and Thursday we will be getting rain from Patricia.
Michelle arrived at 7:30 a.m. and did her usual great job. When I came home at 10 she was gone. She never complains but she said her back was really bothering her so she was going to leave early to get it checked out. I called her later and she said the doc said it was "one of those things" that would last for 14 days! Another friend, Rachel, has a clot and is going to the hospital every 12 hours to have blood thinners injected.
The "good" news is that the funeral went well although it was pretty cold in the graveyard. I did not go to the "lunch" after since it would be the usual country fare - potato, macaroni and rice salads with ham and that 100 year-old cole slaw that "keeps very well". I came home and had my own black-bean chili.
This morning I get my snow tires put on and have a flu shot and then foot care in the afternoon. Sure hope this will fix everyone's woes.
I have decided not to crab about my very small cold but to eat and drink in a healthy way since the flu season seems to be starting early. (I did buy the Halloween goodies yesterday but they are still in the car with the snow tires and are going to stay there until Saturday late afternoon.)
Time for a quick shower and then I'm outta here to be at the garage at 7:30.
Beth, I hope the sun comes out and you get a walk!
Ruth, busy day! Good idea keeping the candy in the car! I have to decide if I'm going to buy candy for the kiddos or just shut the lights and go to bed. I think I'll decide based on weather this year. It's fun-we have a ton of kids but the downside is the dogs who have to be shut in a back bedroom upstairs since they bark at anything. lol
Linda, I'm glad you are feeling better today! Fashion show sounds fun. I still have 2 shrubs and 2 small trees that are in containers and won't winter over unless I get them in the ground. No emergency yet, although I brought 3 petunia baskets and 2 geraniums in since they are still blooming. I put a plastic bag over a table in my bay window, fertilized and will give them at least a month.
OK, nap was nice now it's time to kick into gear! Have a great day everyone!
Yesterday was busy: workout, errands, work. I made soup to take to MIL's today. I'm going to spend the day there with DH but, unlike him, will return home to sleep tonight. Our video recorder filled to overflowing with him being gone so much and deleted 40% of our shows! I thought it would just knock off one at a time as it needed room. Oh well, I guess if we hadn't watched them yet...
I wish that frost would make it out here just for long enough to knock off the ragweed.
