Summer may be winding down, but it's supposed to be in the 90s here all week with heavy humidity. I hope the AC is working well in the schools!
It'll be a quiet day a work, and I'll be looking forward to walking down to the end of the driveway with the dogs to wait for the schoolbus this afternoon. I can't wait to hear all about their first day back.
Linda the first day of school is always so exciting. I have the windows open, but will put the AC on later. Very overcast here at the moment.
The concert was amazing!!! We have lawn seats, rent a beach chair for 6 bucks plus 30 for the ticket was a bargain! Before Rascal Flatts went on, we got an upgrade to the pavilion for free! The venue is huge so most people buy lawn space. However they want the pavilion filled before the main performance so lucky us!!! Late night for me I got home at 1 and Joe got home at 2! So glad I am off today.
I was very productive yesterday and plan on being lazy today. Vacuuming maybe the highlight of my day.
Good morning, Linda, Jennifer, and chicks who follow.
Caffeine sounds good to me right now! I'm tired. I'll be working this evening at the store's opening party. Finally! They expect over 500 people. I'm scheduled for over 30 hours each of the next two weeks which is double what I did at my old job. And longer shifts. I expect to be tired and aching.
Off to the gym with my mom for the first time since her trip.
Good morning,Jennifer! It looks like we're the only ones up so far! Wow, that was great that you got to sit in the pavilion! Take advantage of your day off and have a great lazy day off!
Good morning chicks. Hope I didn't miss out on much over the weekend!
Jennifer, glad you enjoyed your concert!
Karen - good luck at opening night. An excellent reason for a glass of wine tonight. (only for the antioxidants. That's the only reason. Really.)
Cottage - you always remind me to look at the weather . It's pretty hazy here right now, so I'm suspecting the same...
We had absolutely perfect weather this weekend for camping. High 70's during the day, and cool 50's at night, and barely a sprinkle on our last morning. The kids had lots of fun (with barely an electronics! Didn't know that was possible!), and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I did see a black long neck bird that resembled a heron in shape, looked it up....a cormorant? Is that right, Cyndi? I should start bird watching more .
Today is our last day of summer, school starts tomorrow. It will be a busy one!
Wow, Linda, when I checked in earlier it was only you, come back after my shower and the place is hopping! Or maybe "fluttering" is more appropriate for chicks??
Sounds like a busy Monday for many of us. I don't officially report until tomorrow but I am going in this morning to get some stuff done. Kids come on Thursday.
I've got coffee but need to find some breakfast. Have a great day, chicks!
Fluttering in and out or swimming as there seems to be flood of coffee here.
Just finished balancing the week's Mill bucks $ for the past week and sent it off. Now to get dressed and start my day. I'll probably be at the Mill most of this week doing tours as we have only one summer staff person left. I am hoping the other Directors will step up to cover although they don't know how to do tours. It may end up that they cover the Gift Shop while Allisa does tours.
I got the laundry done over the weekend and dealt with a few other niggles and am hoping to get odds and sods done this week, time permitting.
Another Monday morning, I changed my to wfh today so I could get some stuff done. I only go in tomorrow and the rest of the week is wfh and I need to get some reports done.
Today is day 4 of Phase 1 for me, starting to feel better and went for a walk this morning.
Cottage first day back to school is so exciting. It is going to be hot here all weekend as well, it was very hot during DD2 soccer game yesterday, I definitely was sweating just sitting and watching.
Jekel glad you enjoyed your concert last night
Karen will you be able to scale back your hours after things settle down?
Debbie enjoy your day
Tywnn glad you had fun camping this past weekend.
Beth hope this school year is a great one for you
Ruth sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you.
We leave on Friday after work to go visit MIL in Texas for the weekend. Love visiting them but I hate the drive 12 1/2 hours.
So much for being lazy. Jim and Nancy are having an all day drop by BBQ tomorrow for Shoprite employees. Asked if they could use my yard for volleyball. So far I've picked up after the dogs, weeded areas I have avoided all summer, removed the sensor and fixed loose wires iforvthe garage light fixture and pruned my pom Pom tree. Oh and changed my garden flags and mailbox cover. Lol you woukd think I am having the BBQ. I gave them driveway and garage rights too....I'm sure there will be some yummy goodies in my fridge after work tomorrow. Jim invited DS and his buddies too. Looks like a wild Tuesday on my block !
Good thing I weigh in tomorrow morning....I may actually reach my August goal!
Hi, I'm new to South Beach. Can someone give me your thoughts on this product? I think it might be okay but I so could be wrong. Arctic Zero Thanks! I tried to post a link for easy viewing and it would not allow me too. It basically is a 35 calorie serving of ice cream.
Welcome, KareFree! Arctic Zero isn't OK for Phase 1 or Phase 2 since it has 5 grams of sugar in a serving. We should try to keep sugars at less than 3 grams a serving to prevent cravings. That said, I did try a few flavors of it to satisfy my love of ice cream, but I didn't care for it at all. IMHO it has a cottony texture and left a nasty aftertaste. The only craving it induced in me was for the REAL thing, LOL!

Sorry I've been so MIA again. We had our camping trip last week. It was great but I got scary sick Monday night. Luckily I was okay by the time we got up around noon Tuesday (after being up most of the night) and we didn't need to come home. Still not sure what happened, but glad it didn't repeat. Today I started a new job. I decided to take a para position at the Middle School. it's close enough to walk on ambitious days and has great benefits. I don't know if it will be a long-term thing for me, but it meets my needs this year. One big plus - lots of exercise Now for a glass of wine then early to bed for me. Hopefully Cricket won't need to bark at things in the middle of the night again!
