I am tired this morning but I'm happy that I pushed myself and got all that gravel in the floor of my greenhouse in that project is 100% done. I took a break in the afternoon then put myself in the car and went down and did my Costco, whole foods, natural grocery run. I'm going down to a noon meeting today and I won't have any other stops that I need to make. Our rec center here which is a block from my house has been closed for nearly a year as they did a huge renovation. It reopened Tuesday and I'm committed to going over at 6 AM this morning and soaking in the Jacuzzi. That should help my body feel better. Other than that I think I'll just do a few things around the house and try to take it easy.
Good morning, Debbie. I've been up a while but think I need a boot in the butt to get started. The weather cooled dramatically overnight and the garden certainly got a good soaking so watering is off the list for today.
Doc visit went OK yesterday except he gave me a talking to about looking after myself better. (I have been neglecting my meds and testing my blood and he could tell.) That will change today. My orthotics (sp?) have arrived so I can get back to walking - I hope! Miss Millie is badly in need of leash training.
I have a couple of in town errands to do today and will do them when I drop friend Rob off for some tests at the hospital in Kingston for his biopsy. Crazy Book Club is tonight at Ernie's place down at the Lake so I'm sure I'll manage to "fill in the time"!
Right now it's time for another coffee and breakfast.
I've been up but just being lazy this morning. It's been a long week with having to go in early and staying til late, and I'm just enjoying having some free time. Audrey has band camp again next week, so it will be a replay.
I'm glad you got your greenhouse project finished, Debbie, and can truly enjoy your soak in the jacuzzi this morning!
Ruth, I hope your orthodics help since we have lots of walking to do, come October! I'm glad you're listening to your doctor's advice, and hope things go well with Rob's appointment today. Have fun at Ernie's tonight!
I plan to clean, and Jake just brought down the laundry for me, so I want to get all that done before going over to Dad's for the afternoon. That basket of peppers is still looking at me, so I must attend to them today, too, since there was no time this past week. No plans, except for relaxing, over the weekend!
Good morning woke to a cool delightful breeze. I don't even care that it is dreary outside.
Debbie congratulations on finishing your greenhouse. Enjoy your jacuzzi time. Do they have a gym at the rec center?
Ruth you do so much for others, please take care of yourself! Enjoy your book club tonight.
Karen thinking of your family. Around the clock care is so hard.
Beth I wasn't even phased by Debbie's typo. I thought it was a garden term I am unfamiliar with. lol
Yeah I got my first check from my insurance company. I'll deposit it and apply it to the credit card I used for the dental work. I am stopping by a retired coworker's house before work to pick up golf clubs! I don't play at all, but the boys club at work does. Seems a lot of decisions are made on the golf course. I don't want to be out of the loop. The best part is they are pink and so is the bag!
It is another beautiful day today. Had to go in to work today due to some meetings but not car pooling today so that will give me time after my last meeting of the day to run to Trader Joe's since it is in the next shopping center over and pick up some of my favorite things there. I also have to go to viewing of my co-worker today before my last meeting, hopefully I don't cry like a baby during.
Debbie- I like Jekel knew it was a gardening term just not what it was haha, enjoy the jaccuzi
Ruth take care of yourself, since there is only one of you to go around
Cottage enjoy your time off you earned it this week
Jekel that will be awesome to have pink clubs out there
Good morning! We have upper 70s and clear blue sky today after some huge storms went through last night. As Ruth said, no garden watering needed. Actually, we only watered a few times right after planting and Mother Nature has done the rest. I think I will take a walk this morning and then work outside after it dries up a bit. I know DH wants to mow.
Debbie, great job on the greenhouse and enjoy your well-deserved time in the Jacuzzi.
Ruth, I hope you listen to your doctor. It is important to take care of yourself. Have a safe drive to Kingston and enjoy the book club tonight!
Cottage, enjoy your day off. Do you blanche the peppers before freezing? I tried freezing them a few years ago and didn't like the texture. I need to process some tomatoes since the heat this week ripened mine.
Jennifer, my boys both learned to play golf when they were in middle school and I learned at the same time. My bag is boring beige but I always wanted a pink one! I really liked playing even though I wasn't very good; somehow I haven't taken time to play much the last year or two. And I agree about the "decisions on the course" stereotype; DS1 played in the company league during his internship this summer, wonder if it endeared him to his boss?
Time for more coffee. Have a great Friday, chicks!
Beth, no, I don't blanche the peppers first. I just cut them up and freeze them. The texture has never been a problem; I only use the frozen ones in cooking, and can't tell the difference. Thoughts of you processing your tomatoes brings to mind happy memories of my mother. She loved to can and did bushels of tomatoes, and any other summer vegetable and fruit she could get her hands on.
Jennifer, you're going to look pretty snazzy and be the envy of every woman on the golf course with those pink clubs!
Pearlrose, I hope your friend's viewing goes well. Remember that tears show that you cared. Take time to enjoy the beautiful day.
Back from Kingston with Rob who got scared and wanted me to go in with him. I AM his godmother (Fairy Godmother) so I guess that was legit. Luckily I had a coupon to pay for the parking. Got home just after a late lunch and remembered I have to bake a rum cake for tomorrow's BBQ party! I forgot to pre-heat the oven so it sat for a bit - sure hope it rises OK. If not, I'll do it over in the morning although it's better if it mellows a bit.
Book club tonight should be fun. I am going to drive down to the Lake rather than walk since I'm feeling a bit wobbly in the legs for some reason. Instant old age?
