Default TG I F Friday at the Beach, August 14

Good morning!

Coffee is almost ready! I wasn't sleeping and my mind started wandering so I finally just got up. I'm hoping that a cup of coffee and a breath of fresh air with the puppies will make me feel like laying back down for little while this morning. Yesterday it was exciting we made progress on the greenhouse and when it finally started sprinkles of rain we decided we'd hang it up for the day. Not five minutes later we had a torrential downpour which lasted for probably 20 to 25 minutes. Everything is soaking wet now so I guess I'll go turn the sprinkler system off for the day. We are going to restart our project at 8 AM and I go down to Denver for my meeting at noon. I think we should be finished!

Well that is my day....and yours?

Good morning!

Debbie, I'd love to see pictures of your greenhouse once it's all finished. I hope you're able to finished it before your meeting today. Good luck!

I'm thankful I'm feeling so much better this morning. I was fine all day, but last evening I felt like I was getting the flu, and felt so bad that I went to bed around 7. After a good night's sleep it feels like it's left me, thank goodness. I'd hate to spend my weekend being sick!

I plan to clean and get the laundry done this morning before going over to Dad's. Today is also my granddaughter, Amber's, birthday, and we'll celebrate this evening. I can hardly believe she's 15 already!

Good morning, Debbie. I am so envious of you and your greenhouse. I've always wanted one.

My trip to town yesterday went well although I did have sushi for lunch! Shhhh! I did decide on a cell phone and ditched the Blackberry for a Samsung Galaxy 4, same as Linda's. When I get some free time, I'll figure out how to use it. I am so technically challenged these days!

I am going to chain myself to the computer this morning and get caught up on accounting. I'm still straightening out July and have not even started August! It certainly "fills in the time"! However we are heading into a hot and humid weekend so it'll be good to be inside with the AC.

Enjoy your TGIF and the weekend.

Edited to add: Linda, I can't believe that Amber is 15 already! Say hi to your Dad for me.

Good morning Debbie, Linda and chicks still sleeping

Debbie smart choice stopping last night. Please post a picture when it is finished.

Linda glad you are feeling better. Happy Burthday to your granddaughter.

Just another work day ahead. Going to be hot! I think I may cancel my haircut for tomorrow and re schedule for Tuesday. Kerri had to cancel for Monday. Her half brother in FL is in the hospital. Sadly he has end stage cancer. The Drs are only giving him two weeks at best. She just lost her dad to cancer and her MIL two years ago also to cancer. I feel terrible for her and her family.

The scale was kind this morning down 3.2 pounds since coming home. I really wish I didn't get lazy at times because feeling good about my food choices and exercising feels great! I need to remember that more and giving in less to mindless eating.

Happy Friday

Morning Ruth you snuck in on me. Enjoy your new phone

Good morning, chicks.
I've been up for an hour or so; DH had requested some of the PB ricotta muffins and I wanted to get those into the oven while it was cool and the windows were open. While I was at it I made a batch of the little veggie quiches for those days when I'm feeling lazy. I like having them in the freezer. (Come to think of it, I have a batch of cheesecakes in the freezer.... )

Debbie, your little greenhouse sounds awesome. I still haven't assembled the raised bed kit I bought recently; I need to dig up the sod in that location. It really doesn't matter that much since I probably won't plant anything until spring, although some fall lettuce or spinach might be nice.

Cottage, I'm glad you are feeling better. Happy Bday to your granddaughter and enjoy your weekend.

Ruth, I give in to Chinese every once and a while. I figure if I avoid the white rice and fried foods and concentrate on eating veggies and meat the net isn't too bad although I always end up with water retention from the salt. Good luck figuring out the new phone! Downloading software for my computer is the first thing on my morning to do list since I haven't yet.

Jennifer, we are going to be muggy today with storms. I wish you a calm day at work. That's awful about your friend's brother.

Have a great day everyone. I can't believe August is almost half gone!

I will post pictures when it's finished. It's so small, only 6x6 but I can hopefully grow tomatoes and cukes, which don't do well at this altitude, and hopefully start my sweet peas early.

Beth, your idea of some fall lettuce is a great idea! Perhaps you will get your raised bed kit assembled in time.

Linda, glad you feel better! Happy Birthday to Amber and have a great celebration!

Ruth, ouch for paperwork but congrats on your new phone!

Jennifer, so sorry for your friend and family. Kudos for getting back OP and seeing some weight come off so quickly!

OK, back to it!

Good morning and TGIF,

Today is wfh though I need to run to the base to pick up my prescription refills at lunchtime. Hoping for a quiet day. Had weird dreams of our house flooding up to almost the attic and the streets and cars under water- it would take a lot for that to happen as we live on the top of a slope that goes down to the creek....

Debbie sounds like you are moving along on the greenhouse hope you finish it today

Cottage glad you are feeling better this morning

Ruth enjoy getting to know your new phone

Jekel yeah for the scale going down for you this morning, that is sad about your friend's brother and family

Beth that was a good idea to bake before it gets hot

Have a great day everyone!

Is it supposed to be hot here today too? Guess I'll have to look. It's quite a cool and beautiful morning here, I'm even under my electric blankie .

Debbie - hope you get a little nap this AM!

Linda - enjoy the birthday celebration! Glad you're feeling better.

Ruth - maybe you need to drive down here so Linda can show you how to use the phone? BTW - we're not even half way through August (yet), so why worry yet?!

Jennifer - yeah for the scale! Sorry for Kerri and her family, that's rough.

Beth - Do I admit I've never made the PB ricotta muffins? I did make the PB muffins...

I just got back from the therapy pool, first time since late winter. We'll see how it goes. Today otherwise is NO APPOINTMENTS!! WOO HOOO! DS needs a haircut desperately, although he doesn't want one. Anyone want to hold him down for me?!
