Height: 5'6"

Question Having trouble losing weight on Power90

I've been doing Beachbody's Power90 program for 6 weeks now. I'm 5'6", and when I started P90, I weighed 165 pounds. I'm now on week 6, and I've only lost 5 pounds. I've gained quite a bit of muscle, so I know that I must be losing fat because my weight would be going up otherwise. I've never lost weight with such a heavy exercise focus before, so I'm not surprised that the scale isn't moving as quickly as it has in the past. I'm just confused because my clothes don't seem to be fitting any differently. I don't have a measuring tape, so I was planning on measuring my progress by how my clothes fit, but it hasn't changed.

I just don't know why I still look just as fat, and I'm not getting any smaller even though I've definitely lost some fat and gained muscle. I'm trying to eat about 1400 calories a day. I don't always stay under my limit, but I've been doing pretty well overall. Any ideas?

Weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. I sincerely doubt you have gained any muscle in 6 weeks eating at a deficit unless you have cut carbs to less than 100 and upped protein to more than 100. At your current weight, weight loss will be slower. Healthy weight loss is 1/2 to 2 pounds a week so you are doing fine. Keep up the good work.

Your body can retain water when you start a new exercise program - I often stall for 6-8 weeks with zero movement on the scale or even a slight increase. You're doing great!

The beachbody program is great. Keep up the good work!! It took me a while as well but the increased exercise along with adding a product that helped me control my blood sugar (helps with diet) has been key. Keep up the good work and it will pay off.

great keep with it but be aware that exercising is very secondary way of losing weight ! The diet is most important thing if you want to lose weight, i dont want to discourage you from exercising , please continue to exercise, but if you really want to lose weight you have to change your diet also! Keep in mind that you probably lost some fat but also your muscles gained too ! so on weight scale is hard to tell , rather look at mirror
