Hump Day Beach Chat, August 5

  • Good Morning

    Coffee is on!
  • Work was interesting yesterday. It took until almost 9 to get another waitress in. I am pretty organized lol and so with the help of our hostess was able to handle things on my own until help arrived. My boss did wait tables for about 1/2 hour. I was hoping I'd get to work with him all day but when another gal arrived he promptly departed. I told them I would work today if necessary, but it looks like I'm off the hook. (I guess I won't know for sure until 6:30)

My plan is to take the car down for service at 8 and meet with a friend while car is in the shop. Think I'll come back up (doggies) then head back down at noon for a meeting. I'm going to spend my time until then sprucing up the house (makes me feel better) and drinking coffee.

What's on your Wednesday agenda? Stop and say hi!
  • Debbie, you are an inspiration! I hope your day goes as planned with no curve balls.

I did not sleep well last night from worrying about my wee dog Millie. We had a routine visit to the vet late yesterday for update on shots and she was fine until about 7 when the trembling and whimpering began. I could not comfort her but did carry her outside for pre-bed potty. I went to sleep fully expecting a dead dog this morning but she seems completely recovered. It must have been a reaction to one of her vaccination shots. Whew!!!

Yesterday morning I did the bank run and straightened out a credit card problem - I got a new card and mistakenly cut up the wrong one!

Since I am trying to change my routine I went out to the garden rather than go to the Mill and took a batch of green and yellow beans to dear 90-year-old lady who is a summer resident. She lives in England but comes here for the season. She's a delightful person with a great sense of humour. i want to be her when I grow up.

Not sure what today will bring and am very glad. I may work in a p.m. nap since I barely slept for worrying about Millie - apparently for naught!
  • Hi Ruth! I am sure glad Millie seems to have recovered! How scary! I'm glad you got the time to take the beans to your friend.have a great day and I hope it's not too busy. Find time for that nap.
  • Good morning, chicks.

Ruth, how awful! I am glad Millie is better today.

Debbie, fingers crossed you don't get called in to work and I'm glad you got some help yesterday. Enjoy your day off.

Yesterday the rain held off long enough that I got to take my walk and get groceries; DH even got the mowing done. Looks like we might get more this afternoon. I have inside chores that should get my attention.

    Have a great day, chicks.
  • Good morning, chicks.

I've been busy and distracted. My MIL still not doing well. And, big news, I am starting a new job! Same thing, retail sales of women's activewear - different store. A competitor is opening up down the center from us and I've been eagerly waiting. Yesterday I did my new hire paperwork (at there other location since the new one isn't open yet) and gave notice at my current job, which was HARD. So I've been a bit stressed and have a continual level of nervousness.

Got a couple of bike rides in on mornings DH wasn't with his mom. Oh - and my trainer moved her gym to a new location. Lots of change here. Got a new phone that wouldn't consistently send texts so exchanged that for another that wouldn't consistently receive messages I've had many hours of phone set up and tech support. Aaargh. (Not to mention that my computer is constantly telling me that Windows 10 is ready am I keep ignoring it!)

Debbie - Hope you get your day off.

Ruth - Glad to hear your pup is okay.

Beth - It has been rainy here too. My poor coworker had her jeep at work last night without a hardtop!
  • Good morning,

Went to Shania Twain concert last night that was a blast. A bit tired this morning but will press on. DH is taking DD2 and a friend to the Muny to see Beauty and the Beast this evening, DH wanted me to go along but I cannot do so many late night activities during the week when I have to get up early for work.

Today is register DD2 for school and wfh. I got my procedure date set up for next month and they sent me home with the prep meds so I am ready to go.

Debbie glad it wasn't too bad yesterday and hope you do not have to work today

Ruth poor Millie glad she is doing better this morning

Beth we got the rain this morning, what a rainy summer

Karen hopefully your new position will be less stressful for you.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Greetings from Blue Ridge, VA!

Ruth, glad to hear Millie is doing better.

Pearlrose I love country music! I bet the concert was great. We are supposed to see Rascal Flatts the end of the month. Passed their tractor trailer on my way here.

Debbie you certainly can handle anything thrown your way !

Karen good luck with your new job!

    Beth enjoy your day.
