Default Fabulous Friday on the Beach 7/24

I'm still all amped up from seeing Linda yesterday, but maybe it's because I just had a little bit of the zucchini chocolate chip bread she gave me!? We had a lovely time, and of course, forgot to take a picture. Oops! We ate a FABULOUS restaurant that I would love to go back to. (BTW - DH just finished my slice of zucchini bread, little thief...)

The doc appointment was good (who gives a 1 hour exam anymore?!), and one more today - and hopefully that's it for a while!

I have a dear friend that is having a lumpectomy for breast cancer today, so I told her that I'd make dinner tomorrow. Smoked pulled pork , cole slaw, and I'm still debating on other sides and dessert. So today is grocery shopping and planning!

Have a great start to the weekend!

Good morning, Tammy. I am so envious of your lunch with Linda! Too bad Hershey is a fairly long drive for me but one of these days ...

A busy day yesterday, of course, but the Fair is open and no major glitches so far. All the Homecraft judging was done by noon, we fed the judges and sent them home by 1 PM.

No problems with Casey yesterday. I think he acts out only when there is a t-storm. I've been leaving him not crated and all is fine.

Right now I'm going to run the big crockpot over to the Fair Office. The stew actually looks and tastes pretty good. I may grab a serving for myself for tonight.

Not sure what else is on the plate today but I'm sure I'll manage to "fill the time"!

Happy weekend, everyone.

Good morning!

Tammy and I had such a delightful time yesterday, and we never seem to run out of things to talk about, LOL! I'm glad your appointment went well and the doctor seemed to be on the ball.

I have another full load of onions drying in the dehydrator, much to DS's dismay. Even though it's out on the sunporch, you can smell them all throughout the house. I think it's smells wonderful, but DS and DIL disagree. Today's the usual Friday w/ Dad Day, but nothing else is on the agenda. We're going to go see my brother's new house tomorrow, now that they're all settled in, and I'm thinking about making that Confetti Salad that Tammy raves about to take along.

Enjoy your day, it's shaping up to be a perfect summer day here!

Morning, chicks!

Tammy and Linda, I am glad to hear you had a nice visit yesterday.

Ruth, may the Fair weekend continue to go smoothly. Sounds like the pups are behaving themselves.

Me? Off to get more coffee. Not sure what the day holds; looks like a chance of rain today. Yesterday my laundry got a rainwater rinse on the clothesline when a thunderstorm popped up.

Good morning!

I noticed last evening that I didn't drop in and post yesterday. I read but I guess I was just too busy doing nothing. Lol. Ms. Cyndi checked in with me last night. And it was really helpful and I always realize what a special group of friends we have here.

I was too busy doing nothing and let one of my potted roses get to dry. So I got my watering can and fertilizer out and watered everything deeply today I brought the roads in the house for a day of recuperation. I hope I caught it soon enough because there were all kinds of buds getting ready for a rebloom.

I'm sitting on the porch with coffee right now. It's cool and overcast. I'll bet we get some rain this afternoon, too. On my agenda is to zip down to Denver for my usual Friday meeting. I think I will stop by the garden store and pick up some more bark. My neighbor boys coming to help me for a bit tomorrow and it might be a nice idea to get a new spot covered. Oh, The best part is I found a cute 6 x 6 greenhouse on sale yesterday and made the plunge. Only $383 for a twinwall and I'll spend another 60 for a automatic event. I've picked my space and need to decide what I'm going to do underneath because it comes on Tuesday.

I think I'll get moving because I'm a little slow these days. Feeling another stage better today. Have a great day everyone!

Debbie I envy your greenhouse, and on sale, too. What r your winters like? We were below 0 last winter once, and below 20 degrees way to many days. even had the bathtub on outside wall dripping for weeks in hopes that pipes didn't freeze - and no freezing but horrible water bill.

Fun reading about Tammy and Linda able to visit. No wonder you had a bunch to talk about.

Cool here this morning and DH and I walked the furthest I've walked in about 2 years. Hoping the replaced knee and the one with the lubricating material will last so I can get at least 30 pounds gone. Getting really concerned that I'll end up needing BOTH knees done, as I'm hearing funny sounds out of the right one that was replaced only 9 years ago.

Beginning to get this South Beach Diet and working better with it. Still can't get scale to move below today's weight. Keep trying and not giving up.

Sandy, more than just a gardener.
