After sleeping most of yesterday it was inevitable that I would wake in the middle of the night. I could have probably gone right back to sleep but I needed to give Bing his medications. It's very important right now! Then I unloaded/reloaded dishwasher, opened mail and started working on shredding my accumulated pile of papers. I think I will finish that today. I feel a bit better, but not 100%. I am staying home today and will focus on rest and EmergenC. I started a book on tape to keep me from being bored and will finish that today, as well.
I'm back to bed but thought I'd wish you all a great day!
Debbie, thanks for starting us off and I am so sorry you are feeling draggy. Sure hope a day off will bring you back to Energizer Bunny status.
Well, Glen got back from Ottawa with the dog crate and we set it up. I had to go to the Fair Hall for one and Glen put Casey into the crate to stay while I was away. Got home at three to find Casey still in the crate but Glen had put in a bowl of water and his dogbed before he left. For recreation,Casey ripped apart his dog bed and spilled water. Shessh! This dog has a huge case of separation anxiety! Needless to say Monday was not a good start to the week although I did get most of the Fair schoolwork up onto the display.
Today has to be better! Not sure what is officially on my plate but I do need to do a bank run and get the rest of the schoolwork hung. I may just put some of the non-winners in storage since I am running short of display space.
Good morning from a hot & steamy Thorndale! I'm enjoying this first cup of hot coffee, but after that all drinks will have ice in them.
Debbie, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and hope you're back to 100% soon.
Ruth, you have the patience of a saint when it comes to dogs! Has Casey never been separated from them before this? I sure hope your week gets better.
Yesterday was a whirlwind of day, but it did make the day fly by. I left the farm shortly after the arrival of 8 very giddy 11 & 12 years who came for Maggie's sleepover/birthday party. I don't know how long the girls will be staying today, but I expect I'll have a lot of tidying!
I did have enough energy to make 2 loaves of zucchini bread for my family to enjoy last night. I cut way back on the sugar and added some mini chocolate chips, and they turned out great! Presently, I'm all out of zucchini, but according to my plants it's just a short reprieve.
Yes, Casey stayed here last summer with no problem! The difference is that he had Bailey one of my Porties, with him. (She has since gone to The Bridge.) Barney is a new dog, the pet of John Pyper's bride-to-be, and she is not keeping him in line. Millie, all 9 pounds of her, is the new leader of my pack but has not established her as Casey's boss so ... The Pypers are really horrified at Casey's behaviour - major separation anxiety. Glen wants to replace my door frame right away but I won't let him do it until I am Casey-less.
Watch out for those zucchini! When they start to produce, they don't stop! (I actually miss having them but they wouldn't fit in my raised bed.)
Debbie please continue to rest until you feel better
Linda I made 2 zucchini breads yesterday, muffins and zucchini pizza. All from 2 monster zucchinis. I found a simple recipe online with used almond flour and honey (only 1/4). I added dark chocolate chips and walnuts.
Ruth Coconut and mix stayed with my ex five years ago when I went to a funeral in Arkansas. The first night while I was away itty bitty Coconut destroyed all the throw pillows for my ex. Ok so I took a little pleasure in it
Tammy glad you are enjoying your trip. What part of Virginia? I'm going to Blue Ridge next month and Concord, NC to visit my mom and step sister. I'm going to fly as it is only $100 more than if I were to rent a car. After gas and tolls it is an even wash. Lol I am actually excited to download a new book for the plane ride and I haven't booked my flight yet!
Ok gotta stay focused today. Early meeting at work.
Popping in to say hello before my class starts today. It is going to be a lovely day here, maybe I will move outside after class to study.
Ruth that is a case of major separation anxiety.
Debbie glad you are feeling a little better
Cottage I am sure your family enjoyed the bread
Jekel I find for one person it seems to be about the same to fly as to rent a car, but if it is more than 2 than we drive. We are driving to Florida but break it up by stopping at my sister's in Atlanta.
Good morning, chicks! We have the threat of thunderstorms today so it will be my grocery and inside chore day. I spent quite a bit of time outside yesterday weeding and DH got the lawn mowed so we feel caught up.
Ruth, with 1000 entries no wonder you are running out of display space! Is this more than normal? Debbie, glad you are feeling better; keep up with your rest. Cottage, I have "baking with zucchini" on my agenda today. I might search for Jennifer's recipe online. Pearlrose, glad you class started off positively. Enjoy your outside studying.
Me, I'm off to the grocery store. Have a great day, chicks!
Ruth. I have enjoyed reading your adventures with the pup
Linda. Hope you don't have too much of a mess to clean up today. I have made 6 zucchini loaves and that's it for now.
Debbie. Nothing worse than a cold in the summer take care
Jennifer. That's a nice holiday you have planned
Pearlrose and Beth. Have a nice day
After the weekend, I'm on phase 1.5 for the week. Dd and gss are coming this weekend. I also see lots of preserving coming up. I ordered a pressure canner yesterday.
take care
Sophie
This morning the Hyper Pypers showed up and offered to help finish mounting the schoolwork. I jumped at the offer, of course! (They are all tall which helps.) We were done by noon and came home to find that Casey who WAS crated managed to pull a corner of his bed into the crate and finished yesterday's evisceration. We threw out the whole bed because it was beyond being salvageable! I'm going to clean up the lunch dishes (sausage and peppers in a bun) and take off for the bank and a small grocery shop.
We are back from VA, and it was insanely hot so we couldn't do a whole lot. We did go to the aquarium which was (of course) awesome. We were supposed to go to the adventure park (not me, lol), but a thunderstorm rolled in and we had to cancel. Darned! My DD was in tears she was so upset.
Jennifer - we went to Williamsburg, VA, so the east side. Enjoy your trip, sounds beautiful! Where are you flying into?
