Good morning. Where the heck does time go? Seems like only yesterday when we were welcoming July! It's always a hectic month here anyhow with summer really cranking up now that the summer folk have returned.
Claire arrived yesterday all ready to paint and got the first coat on the little room upstairs in the morning. She'll come back today to do the second coat and the trim. I am going to take her out for a fancy lunch next week which will be after her Family Reunion which is at her place this weekend.
Today I have a dental appointment in the next town but it's at ten, before it gets really hot. Actually today will be much less humid! That should make for better sleeping tonight. Despite the fan, I've been awake several times the past two nights. (The AC does not cool upstairs as well as it does the main floor.)
I still have some schoolwork to ribbon and put on display but it'll be too hot to do that this afternoon. We are supposed to cool down a bit by tomorrow so will try to get at it in the afternoon after Pet Therapy. Jazz is feeling the heat a bit so I may try to get he and Millie in for furcuts on the weekend or early next week. They need to be spiffed up for Delta Fair - particularly when the Dog Mum is the judge for the children's pet show. That's such a fun part of the Fair. I make sure every pet gets a prize - even if I make up a reason.
Time to do six weeks of flossing in the next half hour and then crank up the day. Sure hope you have something fun on your schedule - run under the sprinkler or something. (Yes, I've done that!)
Happy Tuesday! It's the only day of the week I set an alarm. I need to be to work at 5:30 whoops 555 since the boss is opening. I've got the trash hauled out and my smoothie made. I'd like to do a little pick up downstairs but that might wait. Coffee is most important today.
Ruth, I gave Bing a little home shearing the other day. I couldn't believe what a pile of hair I had. I think he's feeling better. Kirby, I don't think he's a do it yourself 'er. How neat that you get to judge the kids pit show. I can always find something good to say about the critters. Have a great day-busy as usual!
Weezle, sorry to hear about your garden! Maybe some of it will bounce back. I hope so!
Speaking of pets, I had to share. I always feel so blessed that Kirby has such a great time after his life as a stray. Last night he got up on the bed and rolled all over the place and when he got back up this was what he looked like. LOL it was some big hair for a tiny dog.
Time is flying by! I am going to go find more coffee! Have a great Tuesday everyone!
Cute hairdo Kirby! He must be an 80's guy at heart (LOL).
Ruth - that is pretty cool about the pet show. Hopefully no one gets the "ugliest pet" award?
I'm going to have to make sure I come in here every day to keep my days straight! I keep thinking it's Monday because we just got back from NC last night.
Today I have several appointments, so I'll take it easy otherwise. I think I'll stop by at the farmer's market on the way home and pick up some good maters (just was in the south ya know) and some other yummies. I think it's taco Tuesday to make my life easy (never mind the kids will be happy...).
LOL, Debbie! I had to look closely to make sure there was a dog under that mop! Have a good day at work!
Ruth, that will be a lot of fun, judging the pets. Will Millie & Jazz be there to observe their furry friends, too? Hope your dental appointment goes well!
Tammy, Taco Tuesday just gave me an idea for supper! I'm anxiously awaiting more ripe tomatoes from my garden, too. We've only gotten 2 so far, but have dozens of green ones on our plants! I hope all your appointments go well!
On to Tuesday. It's going to be a rainy day, so the girls and I may spend the day at the mall, shopping for their vacation to Wyoming in a few weeks. I may be going to visit my DD in her new home in Illinois that week if all works out well. I'm eagerly anticipating that!
Good morning chicks very hazy so you know what that means....AC starts early!
Ruth judging the kids' pet show sounds like a lot of fun. Please let us know your most creative award. Very nice of Claire to paint for you. I'm certain she will appreciate the fancy lunch next week.
Linda I'll keep my fingers crossed you get to IL soon to see DD.
Debbie Kirby and I have similar hair styles this morning lol. I groom Coconut too. He has lots of skin tags so when shaving him you need to be really careful. There are more of them as he ages so I just feel I'm a little more careful than a stranger might be.
Tammy welcome back. Did you enjoy your visit? Hopefully it wasn't too stressful. Taco Tuesday sounds perfect! Although here it is salad week yet again, kind of like shark week lol.
It's back to work for me, but beforehand I want to wash my grill plates. Very dirty job. Also vacuum the tumbleweeds Mick has left yet again in the dining room. Food has been OP except for a mini bing yesterday ( handfull of tortilla chips, a few spoonfuls of ice cream and 4 chips a hoy chocolate chip cookies) Hmmmm salty and sweet cravings let's just say TOM's hormonal cousin paid a visit yesterday lol.
Jennifer, Bing has the skin tags, too. I try to be very careful because it's not very pretty when I make one. Good for you getting back on track after your little detour. LOL.
Linda, how exciting you might get to go visit DD! I got a chuckle. Vacation in Wyoming doesn't sound like a vacation to me. LOL
Tammy, welcome home! I always keep track of the days of the week by coming here. LOL tacos sound yummy. I need to make another batch of black beans. Have a great day!
It is very hot and humid already outside heat index of over 100 this afternoon, I am wfh, but too bad, I do have to venture out for groceries later.
Have lots of reports I need to get done before I am out of office for 2 weeks. Next week I have a virtual class I am taking from home and the following week we are going to Disney.
Ruth that sounds like a fun contest to judge
Debbie that picture of Kirby made me laugh
Tywnn hope your appointments go well
Cottage fingers crossed you get to visit your DD
Jekel I could vacuum every day and pic up a ton of hair from the cat and dog
Ruth. What a good friend Claire is. Hope your dearie s get to visit thr beauty salon as planned.
Debbie. What a cute picture that is. I can just imagine him walking down the street with someone with a similar hairdo lol
Tammy I'm with you about getting in here to keep the days straight but then from time to time someone throws us a curve just to see if we are paying attention.aco tuesday is a great idea.
Linda bet going to see dd is on your mind alot. It will happen soon.
Jennifer. Hormones ii a legit excuse. I don't know what mine is.
Pearlrose. Its great that you are working from home.
I have been lazy in this heat. Been reading a trilogy and nibbling too much. Hope that the weather cools down a bit so I can deal with some zuchinnis in my fridge.
take care
Sophie
Hoping everyone is doing well - it has been a busy few days and I HAVE been reading but not posting. The past two days have been catching up with people and cleaning my house - I need to consider having come one in once every couple of weeks I think. Good grief.
The girls had riding this morning, then a nice lunch together, then cleaning and laundry the next 4 hours.
Mom comes to visit tonight for the next few days - hurrah! Then I take the girls to Chincoteague next week. Not sure it bodes well for the eating plan, but I will manage.
