This last time will be the charm...
I have wrote this story too many times, this will be the last time. Long story short, as my story is like so many others out there. Was always thin growing up, started gaining weight after having my 3 children. In 1996, I was a size 14 and did Atkins and lost over 50 pounds (not sure of exact weight loss) to go down into a size 4. Well, you know what happened after going back to regular eating, gained it all back and some. I stayed in a size 14 till 2008, when I decided to do this once and for all, lost 65 pounds and maintained it for over a year. Again, the weight started to creep up and I gained all the weight back once again. It got to the point where, I just didn't know how or what to eat. I needed a total change that would last me the rest of my life. I am approaching 50 this year, and didn't want to continue on this roller coaster way of eating.
Over the past year, I have done a tremendous amount of reading on nutrition. When I lost my weight previously, I was eating processed foods or nothing but protein. I have conformed to a totally clean eating lifestyle. I don't count calories, just eat 3 portioned meals with 2 snacks. I am pre-diabetic, and knew that if I didn't make a significant change, I would develop full blown diabetes like my mother and sister.
When I lost my weight previously, I worked out at home. I never liked the whole gym thing. This time I decided to hire a person trainer and join the gym downstairs for my job. I just started and I can confess, I actually love the gym. Previously, I think I was highly intimidated by the whole gym thing.
So I'm on this road for the last time. I turn 50 in December and want to be FABULOUS!
