Default Hello from KY :)

My name is Allie and I'm really hoping joining this forum will help motivate me to keep working towards my weight goal.

A little bit about me; I have always been heavy, since I was a kid. I have two beautiful sisters who have always been petite so I've grown up hearing things like how someday I'll be healthy and thin because it's in my genes. I have bipolar disorder, severe social anxiety, FLD, IBS and food allergies to dairy/beef/eggs and tomato. It makes choosing a diet plan kinda hard.

I suffer from vertigo and find working out for longer than half an hour at a time wipes me out for hours afterward.

I have a wonderful partner who is likewise trying to lose weight but his diabetes makes it difficult on him; he did recently get an insulin pump, however, so we're hoping that'll help. He's been pretty supportive of my efforts and I'm trying to likewise support him.

That's about all I can think of by way of introduction. Hi, all!

Hi there Allie! to our little group of losers (of weight of course). hehe

It sounds like you've got your fair share of challenges going on there when it comes to weight loss and I am no expert when it comes to any of them but I am sure that you will find quite a few here that could lend a helping hand and a few tips and guiding hands to help you along. One thing I do know is that where there is a will, there is a way! Skinny sisters or not, if you're determined to do something little or nothing will stop you. Some of the greatest people in the world had disabilities or difficulties. So I say go for it and we will be here to cheer you on.

Allie! Glad to have you here! How nice that you have a partner who also wants to be on this healthy journey with you! It sounds like with your food allergies, perhaps counting calories would be the best plan for you. That way you get to choose what foods to eat and you just have to focus on portion size to reach your goal. The free myfitnesspal app for your phone and/or computer is a wonderful resource for keeping track of calories, and of course 3FC is a fantastic resource for support, accountability, and inspiration! As far as exercise, just get out and walk some with your partner each day, and you'll be fine! It doesn't require strenuous exercise. I wish you and your partner the best of luck! You can do this!

Welcome Allie!

Have you looked at vegan recipes? Those recipes omit eggs/dairy automatically so it might help you come up with creative things to eat that will keep you on plan. And calorie counting is a great option for being flexible regardless of foods you eat or don't.
