Default Tuesday SBD Chat, June 9

Good Morning

It's my early day at work so I thought I'd get us started this morning. I got to take a nap yesterday and found my second wind later so the trash (bins and bins of weeds) are already out on the street. Since that was my job for this morning all I have to do now is feed pups, make smoothie and drink coffee. I'm on it!

Stop and chat and have a great day everyone!

Good morning, Debbie and Sleepy Heads to come. I wish I could just take weeds the road for pick-up. We are strongly encouraged to compost around here discouraged from putting them in normal trash. I have a huge compost heap at the very back of my back garden and and have to trudge them out there.

Despite yesterday's downpour, I did get morning errands done and then went with Dann to Madeleine's house to officially sign her on as Bookeeper. She is going to be a great help to me since she will handle all the Account postings and issue financial reports for me. The Mill annual meeting is tonight and I do already have those reports to present. This is for 2014 info.

I just got reminded of an 8:30 appointment for foot care at the clinic but after that, I'll pick away at niggles until it's time for the AGM. It's supposed to rain off and on so gardening is out.

Today's garden surprise is Mock Orange in bloom. What a lovely scent!

Hi Ruth! I'm just about to head out the door but found space for one more cup of coffee. We have composting here, too, but when I talk to them about it they didn't even want these horrible weeds. They turn the compost into garden soil which they sell. I wouldn't want to buy compost full of my weed seeds. LOL. Well have a good day! I better run!

Good morning,

We are going to get in the 90's and stay that way all week, it's summertime. I am wfh home today though I have several phone conference calls but I need to take DD2 for her check up for her foot. They scheduled DH follow up for Thursday but he looked fine yesterday evening.

Debbie I hope your work day goes quickly

Ruth hope your foot appointment goes well today.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow, I'm really late coming here.

I was outside mulching the garden at daylight. Had doctor's appointment very early almost an hour's drive away. Second lubricating shot for left knee to let me walk without pain. Such a great find!!!

Must stay as still as possible to let knee rest, so a good nap helped the day pass.

QUESTION: Could your Creeping Bellflower have scolloped edges? I wonder if that monster is what we call Creeping Charlie around here. I fill up a 5 gallon bucket with the stuff, and then put in some white Angelonia whose spikes look great in contrast to the graceful foliage of the daylilies and dark green of Lenten Rose.

We can put this in the garbage, even tho discouraged.

What do you do with that seed filled Creeping Bellflower? Sure don't want to compost it, agreed.

Ruth Is your foot problem something the Doctor can fix?

Evening, chicks.

More rain here today but I'm not complaining; rain does not need to be shoveled and I don't have to water the garden. I find it easy to be optimistic in June.

Really winding down at school now, although NYS seems to have a never-ending exam period. But then it will be vacation, which teachers enjoy as much as the kids! And I will be able to spend all kinds of time in the gardens.

Ruth, I have that Bellflower as well. I unintentionally brought it when I transplanted some peonies from my MIL.

love2garden, growing up we had a different plant that we called Creeping Charlie. I guess this is why scientific names were invented: everyone calls things by different names!

Pearlrose, glad DH is better.

Debbie, I think I create my own "seeds in the compost" issues.

Happy Tuesday!
