Default Thankful Thursday, June 4, South Beach

Good morning!

Yesterday turned out absolutely crazy, with a big issue in Alaska, all while I was trying to go down to Denver to visit my friend. Thankfully it got resolved and thankfully because of South Beach, I was able to make good food to food choices along the way. Without all the cravings for sugar I find I'm really able to think my food choices through. I didn't eat much for dinner and went to bed early. Today is a new day and I'm ready for it!

We got a hard rain last evening and so everything outside is really wet. Since my brother arrives today I'm going to focus inside. My plumber is coming at 9:30 to fix my kitchen sink. Hopefully the parts that Kohler sent will fix the issue. Then my neighbor boy is coming at 11 to do an hour of or two of work in the yard. And I intend to have a little rest this afternoon.

What's on your agenda? Stop and say hi!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning

Debbie, that must be extremely frustrating to try to solve problems in Alaska while being down here. I hope you get your sink fixed, and have a nice visit with your brother.

Busy, busy, busy, here, and I can't seem to find the time to post as much as I'd like. It seems someone is either coming or going or needs me for something. Ah, well, life is boring when it's quiet, anyway. Right?

Nothing special is planned for today, so far, and I'm looking forward to starting my weekend.

Have a great day, Chickies!

Good morning Linda, Debbie and chicks to come.

Debbie hope your friend is OK and enjoy your time with your brother.

Linda I too haven't been posting consistently, but I try to keep up with the going ons.

Tammy my friend Ed only uses a French press. I will admit his coffee always tastes better than mine.

Ruth when my Keurig died I bought a dual one. It made one cup using k cups or you coukd make a full pot on the other side......I made one cup and brought it back. I think the Keurig has spoiled me. Good luck........the picture is for you

Pearlrose sounds like your neighborhood had some excitement. . Hopefully nothing too serious.

Today is a stay home and putz around the house. I really want to get some weeding done and give Coconut a bath. My quads are really sore from the re qualifications at the range. There is a lot of squatting for reloads. The day after my thighs are screaming lol must be the extra 30 pounds I weigh when working. Who knew the range could be a work out lol

Nothing new or exciting here. Still no word on promotions just a lot of rumor and gossip.

Have a great day!

Another beautiful day ahead! And I already have the trash at the road! What could be better than that?

Yesterday I tackled the darned fake bamboo that is taking over part of the dogyard. (It's Japanese Knotweed and really invasive. It doesn't react to any herbicides either.) The ironic thing is that my parents brought it here from Ottawa back in the 1930s since they thought my grandmother would like it! In some Canadian provinces, it's illegal to have it on your property! Grrrr! Some of it was 8 feet tall. Luckily it's hollow and easy to cut off.

This morning I am going to go to town and buy some plants for my front porch flower boxes. I'm thinking begonias plus something trailing like ivy. The planters are under the porch overhang and get very little sun so are a problem. One year I resorted to fake geraniums and felt very ashamed.

Michelle's daughter, Sierra, is coming to clean this afternoon and I'm hoping she will have time to tackle the porch.

Time to saddle up and hit the road for town.

Good morning

my trip ti dds lasted onle 1/12 days. I wasn't feel well and since my dr was unavailable went to er. After 5 hrs I got a diagnosis of uti. After 3 days on antibiotics hospital called and said bug is resistant to this antibiotic and to come in and change meds. So if this doesn't work I have to go on an iv antibiotic and nurse will come to the house to administer daily. I guess it could be worst.
funny story, before we left I weeded an area in my garden that I am determined to keep clean. Now this involved lots of digging. I asked dh to weed what has sprung out and next thing I know he is there with a blow torch weeding. How easy is that.
little dgs loved his knitted elephant.
take care

Good morning,

Almost forgot to come and post today, it's been a crazy morning had time sensitive reports to get out for some directors this morning.

Things have calmed down now. WFH day just need to go to next town to pay for DS contacts and eye exam and that is about it.

Debbie that must have been stressful yeah for staying op- I have managed 3 days in a row and the scale has rewarded me with going down...now just to keep it up

Cottage summer sure is a busy time that's for sure

Jekel I loved that pic you posted, maybe Ruth should do that for Jazz lol

Ruth glad you were able to tackle the back yard hope you get everything done today

Sophie maybe we should all get a torch to do weeding

Have a great day everyone!

Sophie hope the infection is under control so you can be rid of it.

Ruth In Master Gardening class your "Japanese Knotweed" terror was one plant highly discouraged!!! Have you tried the blow torch on that stuff with hose for putting out fire near by?

Debbie Finally I'm experiencing the freedom from sugar craving on a daily basis. Love this feeling of getting out of Jail, FREE. Today DH and I had lunch with friends at a coffee cafe showing ice cream and pastries. I avoided all that easily. Hard to believe.

Added more walking to each day this month, but feel a bit sore today.

A couple of busy days at work, with walks and a bit of gardening afterwards. Make some meatballs with shirataki noodles last night and chicken enchiladas tonight. Yum!

Glad it is Friday tomorrow, although the weekend will be busy as well.

Have a good night, chicks!
