Heading down the track towards work. I've accomplished lots this morning (I did go to bed early) lol. My brother is popping in Thursday for a 4 day visit so I've been trying to keep focused on my outdoor projects while acknowledging that I'd like to have the inside a bit organized (and clean), too. I never know what the agenda will be until the last minute, either, so I need to remember to stay flexible. I'm looking for at least one more cup of coffee, but need to make my car payment first.
Not very Beachy here with a cold and rainy day ahead. I have the furnace on and the stove is making the back room very cozy. It was too cold in there last night and my two darlings were curled up together when I came down. "Please, Mom, turn on the heat!" The weather is supposed to get back to normal tomorrow.
Not sure what today will bring but I hope I can just snuggle in the house for the day. The front porch is still not in order but a cold wet day is not going to encourage me to work out there! I have a lot of Mill donation receipts to get out and am going to set the timer, have another coffee and try to crank out as many as I can in an hour. I may repeat that after lunch.
Not a very exciting day ahead but that's a good thing. I still have the dregs of a cough and need a day to tidy my nest and maybe even have a nap!
Tuesday is Choose Day and I choose to be a homebody today. More coffee please!
Good morning, Debbie. I'm enjoying my coffee right now.
It's cool and rainy here again today. We had some pretty strong storms pass through last evening, and some even made the glassware rattle! I had a heck of a time with Cindy's dogs yesterday, trying to round them up and lock them in the mudroom before I left. Cindy and the girls were meeting her mother for shopping and dinner, so I had the responsibility. One of the dogs is terrified of storms, and Cindy did give her a sedative before they left, but it didn't seem to have any affect on her at all. The poor thing was frantic and I was afraid she'd destroy the room. I called Cindy to tell her the situation, and finally ended up taking her down to the barn and putting her in an empty horse stall. At least she couldn't destroy anything in there. So now today I have to clean all the dog hair out of my car. Ugh.
I'm not sure what all today will bring, but I'm hoping to pick some fresh chard from the garden for supper. Mmmm, garlicky swiss chard and white beans.
Debbie, you're not allowed to ever come visit me, because your house sounds WAY cleaner than mine!!
Ruth - I like your choice in being a homebody.
It's my "day off" although I need to visit my second clinic today. I start there officially on Friday - so once weekly, I will be working 10 minutes away instead of nearly an hour! Do you believe it's been a year since I left my last job?!? Crazy.
Otherwise, I'll be taking it easy today. Some niggles to take care of.
I peeled the steri-strips of my chin yesterday and was rather dismayed to see a bump. I actually preferred the "patched up" look - at least it was obviously an injury and not just a misshapen sagging, old lady face. Couldn't find an answer from Dr. Internet as to when/if I can expect the lump to go away.
We plan to hit the road around 8:30 this morning. Drive time (without stops) should be between 24-28 hours depending on road construction. We should arrive late tomorrow or Thursday morning. Not looking forward to the travel part at all. Not sure what our time in CA will be like but crossing fingers we can find DS a place he likes and can afford.
Will try to pop in from time to time. Catch you all later.
WFH day for me and shortly will be going for my mammo appointment. I never did get my referral for my colonscopy and not sure I want to check on what happened
Debbie I love having company even though it completely throws off my schedule
Ruth enjoy your me day you need it
Cottage I live with cat and dog hair and constantly vacuuming the house to contain. I get upset when I am wearing black pants for work and geo (cat) has to come and rub himself all over my legs before I leave.
Tywnn enjoy your day off
Karen hope your bump goes down quickly. I remember that drive and I am with you do not look forward to it
Way past morning coffee, but had another doctor's appointment in a different city this morning early.
Lubrication solution by needle to give cushion to left knee joint. Last series of 3 shots (1 per week) lasted over 7 months. Even tho bone-on-bone left knee, the doctor insists I must loose 20 to 30 pounds before he'll consider joint replacement. So far I've not been successful
This is why I've begun South Beach Diet. Seems this is successful for at least some of you. This sure gives me hope.
Must rest the legs till tomorrow to help fluid sack in knee heal from shot this morning. Library stop gave me 2 good books to read.
We have rainy and cold weather and like Ruth, we turned the furnace back on to be comfortable. Surely by tomorrow we can go back to normal no heat or AC to cooling. Forests are better off with less danger fire danger.
It's good evening again for me. Seems my work days are quite busy lately and I don't get a chance to post until after supper.
We have had 2 days of cool and rainy but the garden and flowers are loving it. I trudged out to check on the vegetables and I can't believe how well they are growing! I have some herbs and lettuces in a planter box and they are also going nuts. Let's hear it for fresh produce!
Hope everyone had a bit of "choose" in their Tuesday. Stay safe on the road, Karen.
Love2garden, I hope your injection helps. DH and I got "his and her" knee gel shots last summer. He especially finds it helps him.
I'm going to brew some decaf and try to avoid any mindless noshing.
Got a very late start this morning and I'm still catching up We have had the same rainy, cool weather with happy plants. I can't wait to get back into the garden Friday.
love2garden - I found SBD when my knee started acting up again. My doc told me in 2002 that the next step is replacement and I am working on putting that off as long as I can. Hope it helps you too.
Off to get more done before DH gets home from work.
