Default Does your neck change after you lose weight?

I realize that this is an oddly specific body part to ask about, but I've always been insecure about my neck, or lack thereof. It's very thick and short, and no other girl I know has a neck as thick as mine is. I think it's because I'm overweight (which I'm working on changing), because when I tell people, they suggest that that is the reason why. I just want to know if other people can confirm this or suggest any neck exercises (the only ones I can think of are just stretches).

My neck definitely gets noticeably thinner when I lose weight.

I wouldn't recommend trying to exercise your neck, though, it's such an easy part to hurt, and spot exercises don't work anyway. I mentioned an exercise to reduce double chin to my plastic surgeon one time and he laughed and said none of those facial or neck exercises work and I shouldn't try.

Yes, I lose inches on my neck. As for exercises, you can't exercise a spot to make it thinner, but if you want to do gentle stretches, they're always useful in their own right. I suppose if they improve your posture, that might change how people perceive your neck and general appearance?

thank you fluffyfat, esofia-I'm glad to know that my neck will change as I lose weight. I realize that this may seem like a stupid question to lots of people but it motivates me much more!

Yes and no.

My collar went from 19" to 15" with weightloss.

But with strength training (I think because of squats) it's going up again!
