Default Thursday April 23 Chat

(sorry couldn't think of a catchy title. Maybe there will be a merge...)

Good morning! I have coffee and 5 minutes to chat before I leave for work.

Anyone else up?

It's rainy and gray out there right now, but I'm going to focus on my daffodils and the fact that there is no snow. At least, until tonight when the rain may mix with wet sn#@%

Nothing special on the agenda today, which is ok with me. I am going to a conference this weekend and will need to do laundry and get organized tonight.

What's up with everyone else?

Default Thursday April 23 on the Beach

Bring a blanket when you drag your lounge chair to The Beach today - we are just at Freezing and Ottawa got snow overnight. "April is the cruelest month." Things are supposed to improve over the weekend.

Slowly, slowly the water is receding in the dogyard and now it is liquid mud in places. Jazz stays out of it but Millie delights in walking through it and comes in with black legs and tummy! I've managed to remember to close the door into the front of the house but the kitchen and back room get mopped several times a day.

Jazz and I are off to the vet for 8:40 for the usual spring inoculations. Since he's such a good car dog, I will carry on to town and pick up another co2 detector at Home Hardware. I know I had two but can only find one. Somewhere in this house there is a bottomless pit where things hide! Of course, I'll find the old one as soon as the new one is installed.

Just got an email from one of the interview candidates canceling out! She has decided to get a job closer to home as she lives a 90 minute drive from here. (I can't imagine driving three hours a day for a job that pays minimum wage which is $11 an hour in Ontario.)

Time to get myself in gear and tackle this day which is going to be showery once again. I need some sort of water trough for Millie to walk through when she comes in from her mud bath.

Happy Thursday!

Good morning, Beth. I felt the same about catchy title. Sorry about the snow - strange that we didn't get it since I'm between you and Ottawa.

Just realized Oberon posted for today (time difference) so will see if I can move her post here.

Good morning finally time to check in. Very busy this week and just finished reading posts since the weekend.

Linda hope you are feeling better. Sorry Tammy and Linda I love Cracker Barrel breakfast. I get a short stack of whole wheat pecan pancakes with peaches (yeah not the greatest choice) with 2 eggs (over easy) and turkey sausage. I love going out to breakfast. It's rare that I do, so I go big lol

Karen I am ravenous after a good ride. I've learned to snack as I go. Small pack of mix nuts or a kind bar are always in my bike bag plus GU. The GU helps on the big rides. I'm sure your friend appreciates tagging along. It is a little intimidating being far from my car at times.

Ruth I m going to look up the mill. I've pictured it in my mind. Let's see if I did a good job. Sorry about the mud and the cancellation

Cindy hope you enjoyed your getaway

Debbie hope things go smoothly for awhile you could use the emotional break.

Beth hope the water main break was resolved. Although a surprise day off is always nice

Happy belated birthday Pearlrose. That was nice of DD taking you for some TLC. How is your ankle?

Sophie did you enjoy your weaving?

Today I need to cram all my normal niggles into one day. I have 2 shifts of OT starting tomorrow and helping at a fundraiser on Sunday. lol I can't wait for Wednesday next week to be off again. Before I do anything I am going to enjoy my second cup of coffee. Anyone care to join me.

Good morning. I hope this day really is an "epic improvement." My back has been making life pretty miserable all week. As long as I'm standing it's tolerable, but if I sit down the pain is awful when I try to get back up again.

I hope your weekend conference is fun, Beth. Is it very far from home?

Ruth, I'm having the same problems with Cindy's dogs. I even demonstrated to them how to wipe off their feet on the mat before they come in, but they're ignoring me. And why do they wait until they're indoors before they decide to shake off?????? I've been keeping the mop handy and must clean up after them at least 10 times a day! But you gotta love them!

Cindy and the girls are on their way to Kentucky for the weekend, so I'm just going to throw in a load of wash and do a quick tidying up, then I'm off for the weekend, too. I had been planning to spend the weekend at my DD's, but now I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it, the way my back is carrying on. I know Carley will be disappointed if I don't go. I'm hoping for a miracle.

Good Morning

Thanks for getting us started up, Beth. I was up (go figure) but hadn't quite made it here. Enjoy your unplanned day off.

Linda, I'm glad your back is improving. Thank goodness you don't have to go in today. I'm hoping for a miracle for your back, too.

Jennifer, it sounds like you have a busy week coming up. I hope you get all your normal niggles done today. I did join you for another cup of coffee and am planning another very soon.

OberonDM, I hope you're feeling better soon!

Ruth, blanket needed here, too. It's 30 but is supposed to be 54 by 9. I am going to work in the yard, anyway. The snow is almost melted and it's the best time to dig weeds… Safe travels today!

I had a bad food day yesterday so decided to ramp it up a notch. I'm going to do my P1 plus fruit at least for today. LOL (One day at a time) I am going to try and stay home today and do a combo of getting stuff done both outside and in the house. I'm well on my way inside….cleaned out the frig and got all my veggies washed and stored. I need to pull out the carpet cleaner again (pup and diuretics arg). Outside, I'm hoping to fill my 4 cans with yard rubbish for pick up on Tuesday. I do have several days to accomplish this. I wish I had some rain pants…..hmm will look in DH's closet. Grateful that I can fit into some of his stuff these days.

That's about it here….think I'll go find more coffee.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,

A bit chilly this morning 31 degrees but thankfully we are not getting any snow or rain. It is supposed to warm up to 60 degrees. Downtown St. Louis is full of kids for the robotics conference making a muck of traffic lol. Hope they enjoy themselves notices a bigger police presence so hopefully everything will go smoothly with no incidents.

Beth what kind of conference are you going to this weekend?

Ruth good thing you have the door closed so it's only a couple of areas. That is a good minimum wage but not worth driving that far for.

Jekel thanks for asking the ankle is doing better but on some days it still hurts but I am doing more and more without it hurting. Enjoy your day off

Oberon have a good day

Cottage sorry that your back is still hurting you.

Hi Debbie we were posting at the same time hope you get everything you wish to accomplish done today

Have a good day everyone!
