Am not bored at all.

I can relate to the 6 stone loss, I started this journey, this time at 16 stone 7.5lbs and have worked my butt off over the last 10 months to get down to 14 stone 9.5lbs, was 3 pounds lighter, but then I went on holiday I will get there again.

I still have a long way to go, 4 stone , but am trying to think of it in bite size chunks of half a stone and on down days am constantly reminding myself of how far I've come. It has been hard work, but I will get there eventually.

I would love to give up work, I have 2 boys aged 5 and 8. Foresenic Science is to do with police investigations ?????

Hello Jinty

Forensic science eh? Blimey that'll take some studying well done! I notice you are/were a civil servant so am I! and you live in Lancashire me too! Whereabouts I'm in Accrington. When I started this time I was 15.5 but have now reduced to 13.6 mostly by using slimming world. I'm very focussed at the moment I would like to get to around 10.12.

Well hopefully you'll get a lot of support out of this forum it's a very good website with tons of tips and support so keep logging on it's a great help

Dee

When I started with weight watchers weighed in at 16 stone 7.5lbs, so was just a tieeny weeny bit lighter. AM now down 2 stone, or I was, have gained back a couple of pounds.

I feel that looking at it as 6.5 stone to lose is too frightening for me. I have to break it down into smaller chunks. My current one to get back to my 2 stone and then to just make it in the 13 stones something.

We will get there, although it is going to take me along time

Hi Jinty

Good luck with your weight loss, (and everyone else!)

You seem very determined, which IS half the battle.

I am coming up to my first week on my diet, and I feel I have done really well.... I am waiting for Tues PM to get on the Boots scales so I will let you all know then whether it is working or not, but I feel much better already

Part of my trouble was I leave home for work at 7am, and don't get home till 6pm - so would just chuck in a convenience meal into the microwave, eating it in front of the telly, feeling hungry about an hour later, and proceeding to scoff the rest of the fridge!

So all this week I have been making sure that when I get home, I am making a proper meal, and sitting down to eat it at the table. This has been making me feel full for the rest of the night, and much more relaxed! And then as my treat every night I get a treat of a go-ahead sponge bar and a glass of wine

As a result, I'm feeling much more chilled out already!

Lets just hope the scales agree with me!

Hello thanks for replying!

I know what you mean fiona, I used to travel 75 miles a day to go to work, and by that time the prospect of trying to cook a balanced low fat meal was no where near as tempting as nipping mcdonalds

Not having a good week so far (bit bad considering it's my first on the diet!)

Mums birthday on sunday so lots of
going out tomorrow on a course from work with a free 3 course lunch engagement party on saturday at a nice hotel in london and started period today so ate too much chocolate and felt disgusted with myself all afternoon i'm just a some time. On reflection next week might have been better!!!!!

Thanks for the Advice Sal, 6 and half stone does seem abit daunting, so I've decided to aim for 2 stone by xmas (watch this space!!!!) You seem to have done sooo well - you must be really proud of yourself

Anyway must go - need to paint my nails in preparation for my last week at work for 3 years - hurrah!! bye!!!

Forensic Science huh? I used to work as a secretary typing post mortems! NO ONE jump under a tube train please! Apart from the appalling injuries (death not usually instant) think of the inconvenience and the fact that someone has to type the damn report!!

On that happy note, Jinty, I wish you well for your diet and your career.

Default New girl ... well almost

Hi,

I've been posting on the lowcarb forum as I'm on the Atkins diet but I felt that I wanted to hear from some girls in the UK so decided to introduce myself ....

I've started the Atkins diet a month ago and during this time I've lost just under a stone (that loss includes going to Biarritz for the weekend and putting on 2lbs as well as having a couple of massive cheats "read: boozy lunches").

I've only got another stone to loose but did stall this week (but that was after stuffing my face with Ice cream, chocolate and pasta on Friday) so am not to disappointed.

The atkins diet suits me perfectly as I had so many chocolate/bread cravings which have basically gone. It also keeps me full up from 7.30 - 13:00 and then to 20:00 with no urge to snack inbetween and I use to be the 3 chocolate bars a day girl (very boring job and a vending machine in the office) ....

I put on my weight whilst being pregnant with my first child (who is 15 months on Monday) and realised that the first 2 stones were easy to get off but the 2 last just wouldn't go ... but Atkins is certainly doing it for me ...

Well, good to meet you all and I look forward to hearing from you.

J
