I enjoyed my venture to Denver yesterday. I perused a different Costco, made a stop at WhFoods then headed over to my regularCostco to pick up Bing's meds. It got super windy while I was out and we were supposed to get snow but it hasn't come yet. I did get the West side of my yard hard raked with only one blister so I guess I'd better go back to my usual plan of a small bit every day I can. The East yard is much larger. They are still predicting snow so I have a list of indoor activities but I may get out to take the recyclables up. They are stacking up.
So much for my exciting day! What's on your agenda? Stop and say hi
Good morning Debbie, and thanks for starting us up with your early rise! You are busy, busy as always.
Yesterday talking to my boss went GREAT. I am utterly grateful, and it is a huge relief. She just looked at me and said, "what can I do for you. Permanent part time?". So, I am now at part time status indefinitely. I actually made sure she dropped me from insurance, because my husband's is PHENOMENAL. My bills are probably close to 100k, and all I've paid is co-pays of maybe 200 bucks. I now work M/W/F.
Today I do nothing. I don't look bad, but my body is completely fatigued. One of my reflexes kicked in during my meeting yesterday, and my leg just sat there bouncing uncontrollably. The staff was amazed, LOL. I hope I remember to make dinner for the family!
I hope everyone else is doing well. I noticed a bunch of hyacinth and tulips poking out - through the last surprise snow - yesterday. YAY!!! It really is coming!!
Hi Tammy! I'm glad your meeting with your boss went so well! That must be a relief! Get some rest today, it's been a rough week! Thinking of pups, now that they are going to daycare. (thought I'd share) The woman keeps Bing with her most of the time and was amazed at how close he stays to her side. Yep, separation anxiety...If you can't be with the one you love....love the one you're with. Kirby, on the other hand, is the smallest in the bunch. She calls him the social butterfly. He cruises the gen. pop. hanging with 2 great danes, a collie, a malamute and various others. He's loving it.
Thanks for getting the coffee started this morning, Debbie, and enjoy your busy day. It sounds like you may have a white Easter!
Tammy, your boss sounds very compassionate and I'm glad everything worked out great. Now you'll have a day to recoup after your work day until you get completely healed. Have a good day today!
I have a short day today since I scheduled a doctor appointment before Cindy canceled their vacation plans. I think the girls want to go shopping after they are finished with their barn chores, so the day should fly by.
Our weather seems to be settling down and we may even be able to enjoy our wine outside on the patio on Easter. It will be my first glass of wine in 6 weeks and I am so looking forward to it, whether it be indoors or out.
Good morning I just couldn't keep my eyes open after work to check in. We seem to get really busy this time of year. Looks like we are finally going to have a nice day. I am supposed to go to Joe's, but I am going to cancel. Truthfully I just want to stay home.
Tammy I am so happy your boss is so understanding. Hope your symptoms calm down soon. Happy Belated birthday to Ethan (I caught up on posts last night)
Debbie I haven't even ventured to try and get anything in the yard cleaned up.Sounds like you had a nice day
Linda hope you really enjoy your wine on Easter. I'll keep my fingers crossed you can enjoy it on the patio.
Debbie my older dog has separation anxiety, but only when I am home. It is getting worse as he ages. it is nice getting the attention. Now it's time for their belly rubs. Have a great day
Wish we were all in my kitchen this morning chatting since it's a dull morning with a sifting of what I suspect is freezing rain as April tries to sort out her agenda. Supposed to get to 60ºF today and nearly that on Friday. The ice is still on the lakes but the creek is open.
Glad your menagerie did OK, Debbie, and wish I had an official doggie daycare near here. None of my friends have fenced yards and my two are way too accustomed to that. I don't think Jazz has ever done his business while on leash.
Tammy, so glad you had that meeting with your boss. She sounds like a good one! I gave one of my employees a day off once because her dog died and go reprimanded by my boss.
Linda, raising my mug in a toast to an extra short week, even if it is because of a medical appointment. Sure hope its not for anything serious. I envy you being able to even think of sitting outside on Easter - that sure won't happen here as below freezing is the Sunday prediction.
Jennifer, sometimes our body tells us what we need. I do hope you stick to your guns (not really! ; ) and stay home tonight.
Jazz and I are off to Westport (25 minutes) for his shearing" which is very badly needed. He needed it in November but I just could not have him done then - it would have been awful to see him shivering through our record-cold winter. The groomer, Jen, is really well-recommended and liked and always taken before and after pics. Good luck photographing a jet black dog. Attached is a picture of Jazz, Disney and I taken by a professional. Can you find Jazz?
Not sure what the rest of the day will bring. I am hoping to finish up several desk niggles so I can just relax over the weekend. I'll do the bank when I drive back to pick up Jazz. No Easter cooking required as I am going to Heather's for her huge Easter Dinner and just need to take some wins - I have three extra large bottles of Christmas champagne which should do it.
Time to groom myself and take off to Westport. (I feel like I should groom Jazz, sort of like wanting to floss for an hour before the dentist!)
Debbie. Wow working in your garden sounds great. We are nowhere near that yet.
Tammy. So happy for you that things worked out with your job. Did ds have a nice birthday.
Linda. Are you a strong one giving up wine. May your day fly by to enjoy your weekend.
Jennifer. Glad you can rest today.
Definitely have to bake a cake for the weekend. When my daughter told my 2 year old gs he was coming to see us, he started pumpimg his liitle hand up in the air and saying - cake, cake, cake. Off to check things of my list after another cup of coffee.
take care
Sophie
Good morning, chicks! We have 33* and some sort of rain/snow/sleet/hail mixture this morning; I think we'll call it snail.
I am really enjoying crossing things off my list this week. Yesterday it was taxes, clean the oven and wash the throw rugs. It's just so nice to have time to do it. And don't worry, I also am getting in my "me time": workouts and reading.
Ruth, I can't help myself: the only time I've been to Westport was to go to a hockey game. Enjoy your trip.
Tammy, I am SO happy your boss is so understanding. She sounds really awesome. It doesn't matter if you are a great employee, some bosses just don't appreciate it. Get some rest today.
Sophie, it's nice to look forward to Easter with your gs.
Debbie, a few warm days and we might be able to start raking. The critical part is always along the edge of the driveway where the plow deposits stones into the grass. Your dog story made me smile.
Cottage, sitting outside sounds awesome. Enjoy your short work day.
Jennifer, DH and I often have different ideas of what to do on our weekends. He wants to "do something" and I usually want to just stay home and tend to the chores I can't get to on work days.
Ruth what a lovely picture!!! I stood my ground, Joe understood. So far I've gotten the car washed (it was disgusting), went to Walmart (yuck) and raked out my flower beds (lol frozen leaves were challenging) Felt great to get outside. Now finishing coffee then off to get another bulb for my headlight. Hope I don't have a short! Then I will tackle the crowds at Shoprite. I was going to ride outdoor ds today, but my remaining days off the weather doesn't look like it will cooperate. So next week the bike will come off the trainer.....hopefully
