Default Calories up, Calories down

hello! I am new here and recovering from an eating disorder!
so I have a very slow metabolism and don't tend to eat much. I was wondering if I ate 1200 calories the yesterday and only ate 300-400 today would I put on much weight?
(I am trying to gain a little but today I physically couldn't eat without feeling sick)

Your body might go into starvation mode and hold onto weight, so you might gain a little.

Hello Kel C,
Are you sure that you are recovering from an eating disorder? This quantity of calories that you listed in your question is too little for most humans to maintain health and not necessary for weight loss for most people. Any low calorie diet that I've seen wouldn't recommend less than 1250 and the authors carefully plan out meals so that major food groups are covered. I'm worried that you're still thinking illogically about food. Do you need to lose weight? Have you looked up your BMI?

If you're recovering from an eating disorder and we don't know you're age and current weight and level of physical activity that's not a question that someone here could really answer. 1200kcal or below for most human beings is less calories than you need to survive. I would be amazed if so few calories on the second day listed would give you enough nutrients to prevent your body damaging itself. For example if you don't eat the basic amount of protein and calcium that you need each day your body will strip these from your muscles and bones so that your brain and organs can continue functioning. This is why anorexics even in their 20s can have heart attacks. Too little protein and nutrients.

I suggest that you speak with a nutritionist to figure out what you need for HEALTH first. Weight loss is pointless if you hit thirty with a weak heart, the bones of a 90 year old and are exhausted all the time. Sorry if you know all this already. If you can't find or afford a nutritionist I find the Dr Holford optimum nutrition bible good, although it's quite a large tome. Try reading up on nutrition, finding out your BMI and preferably consulting with a doctor and a nutritionist.
