Thank u ladies for your replies.
Tai, I have read many good reviews on New Balance for walking shoes. The New Balance shoes were about $100 or more

New Balance are the only way to go. They are, in fact, the only shoe my foot doctor recommends.

Thank you MauiKai!
Has anyone tried Brooks walking shoes? I heard they were a very good brand for overweight women who also have moderate to severe pronation

Everyone's feet and biomechanics are different. A shoe can be a great shoe, but not great for you. Plus fit and gait changes as you lose weight. Not to mention that shoe manufacturers change their design regularly, so a model that used to work for you may not after an update.

I would recommend trying on several pairs and seeing which one feels the best. Shoes should be comfortable from the first time you wear them. If you can, go at the end of the day when your feet are the largest. Always get measured and consider wearing a size up from what you're measured . This is especially important for me as I wear orthotics.

I can't speak to what Brooks makes for walking, but my last 2 pairs of running shoes have been Brooks Glycerin 12s. I love them, but I still tried out others to be sure.

Good luck in your search!

Mizuno, for the heavier set. I started with the Wave Creation 14s (I think) when I started running at 230-240lbs or so and my knee pain disappeared overnight. Read the Amazon reviews.
